RE: Important Petition
I'm unsure. Phil assumes that people know things, and though it's unfortunate, we don't.
I believe he may have been referring to one of a few people, I think maybe you or Droopy, or another female forumgoer.
Thanks for being honest, joeker.

RE: Important Petition
It was Wilky - in reference to her calling Amy naive, and Amy's thoroughly appropriate response.
That's honest. Unlike Joeker's reference to me "assuming" people know things, when in fact there was no need to assume. I won't carry the argument from Joeker's blog over to here and explain what that means.
Drop it, people! And just to help this is my final post on this thread.

RE: Important Petition
Joeker I have always had a lot of time for you, and enjoyed chatting with you on the AFF chat. I respect the fact that you have conviction and a cause you feel worth pursuing. I also had no problem with the way you held and debated your opinions on this thread. It is a shame you are keeping bad company. I hope for your sake you are able to distance yourself from association, it won't do you or your cause any benefit in the long term. I am sure you probably realise this already.
Take care mate
Rossco

RE: Important Petition
Speaking of Fore, or Droopy?
I answer to no puppeteer, I speak my mind openly and with conviction and honesty.
Suffice to say, if there is an ignorance, it is not to be assumed that they're being belligerent.
As for you, Phil, this is absolute hypocrisy on your part.
You should be ashamed for pushing a "Get Over It" here, while cruelly and basely using it to attack and insult a lady's integrity.
You are as bad as Fore these days.

RE: Important Petition
In esponse to timelord's statements
1. He has announced his intention to run for President - and has not withdrawn it.
So has Hulk Hogan, but I doubt either of them will win.
2. He's a Generation Rescue "Angel" (talk about an oxymoron) and their influence over parents of young children with ASD's is far from trivial - especially those who are panicking (due to the lack of proper support for ASD's in the health system). And there are plenty of those.
Generation rescue faces almost constant criticism from numerous sources both in academia and in news. Whatever power they may have, I believe that it will wane in the near future.
And all panics subside eventually, maybe not in an individual level, but on a society level for sure.
In other words, his influence is higher than you think. He probably doesn't have many friends (heck, he didn't even find a wife until he was past 40!) but he has plenty of allies.
Even though your diagnosis of paranoid schizophrenia is probably right. I have another word for it - meglomania. And there was a man who was just like that in the mid 1920's and in a similar position to what Best is in now.
His name was Adolf Hitler.
I just said that was typical of the way paranoid schizophrenics thought, implying that he thought in similar ways to them. I didn't mean to imply that he had paranoid schizophrenia. And if I did... I probably should've reworded that.
If anything I'd say he's narcissistic.
The comparison to hitler is something I've seen WAY too often, and not once had it ever been valid.
John Best might have similar views but he is NOT in a similar situation nor do I think he has similar leadership, or manipulative skills.
What you've just done are two things called argumentum ad metam and argumentum ad comparo, which mean "appeal to fear" and "appeal of comparison", neither of which are valid arguments.

RE: Important Petition
I urge every one here who considers the Hating Autism blog to be a blight on the understanding of ASD's to sign this petition - set up by fellow ASD person, Joeker (who is a member here).
http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/notojohnbest/
My understanding is that this petition will be sent to Google and maybe - just maybe - they'll decide to uphold their terms of service and remove that garbage from the Net.
The more we have the merrier!
Joeker's blog entry announcing the petition is here;
http://blogofmanytrades.blogspot.com/200...-down.html
i have signed the petition (a while back but i signed it)
I am the one hiding under your bed, teeth ground sharp and eyes glowing red...

Maybe ask Phil the Hating Autism Crusader what happened to his "partner" Joeker "the member here". This petition is as dead as Timelord's trustworthiness and alliance to his partner.
Ask on matters concern Mental Health professionals and service provider internet disconnections. I am sure you will get an "interesting" perspective.

RE: Important Petition
Sorry Pikajedi . Did I err?
Seriously, Joeker was just as fired up as this young Flardox. I don't want Timelord terrorising other teenage males as he did Joker. I am trying to ward Flardox away from Timelord.
Irrespective of the merits of the petition I think, not knowing the history, it is prudent to give this young bloke opportunity to slowly raise his hands and step back from Timelord very quietly and slowly with no undue sudden movements.
Personally I think Flardox comes across as militant and hostile but I would not trust his well being with Timelord. I can't think of any members presently on this forum I would.

thank you for this post rossco
i did lose it a bit on fore-sams blog because of his words but i should have kept my temper i did for some reason get this Pm from timelord not sure if it is anything to worry about though but anyway thanks for thinking of me and i will be more cautious
Flardox, just touching base with you to let you know a few facts.
Joeker harrassed me on a thread at Hating Autism - calling me "weak" and jumping to a number of false conclusions about me. This was getting out of hand and I mentioned it to a bunch of real life friends who were keen to help. I agreed and gave them the full details.
It worked out well except that one of them (screen name Borusa) went too far and called on Joeker to take his own life. That got him into trouble with the others - and also with me when I found out.
Two wrongs may not make a right - but this has got to the point where Joeker just will not listen to reason anymore. He never wiped the slate clean - as his statement to you about me on Best's blog proved. The warning BTW is unfounded.
I can be nasty - but ONLY when provoked. Joeker has definitely provoked me. Whilst I distance myself from Borusa's comments, the others were fine because they told the truth and expressed their views quite well if a little forcefully. But Joeker doesn't understand just how much angst and anger he is responsible for and won't admit to it either.
It would be best if you stayed away from Joeker. He's on a psychological knife edge at the moment and is too stubborn to admit it. It doesn't really matter what your view of me is to be honest - and I'm not trying to be rude saying that. I'm saying it would be best if you just withdrew from this dispute completely. If you are seen to be talking to me, Joeker will flip his lid for sure. He shouldn't even be here on AFF because he was banned back in August - for pursuing me and not ceasing when Amy and Gareth told him not to.
I might not respond for some time here because I'm taking a break from AFF at present. I only dropped back now because of a post on Joeker's blog that I wanted to follow up on regarding Wilky. And I saw it, and I can tell you I saw this coming back in July. Back then - I told her to get out for defending John Best. Now a lot more members (without realising it) are seeing I was right.

RE: Important Petition
Yup I have responded to this already. Basically you have every right to feel that you should be able to be safe posting here. I have not always agreed with you and may sometimes come off as grumpy or whatever. I do however, do my best to nurture and protect members here. I would not willingly throw you to the wolves and so............
