I'm guessing a place where you could talk about your interest. I've never had a GF though.

My Aspie partner and I met online at a site for politically progressive political interests.

Hubby and I met at Youth Group (church) when we were 14. We were always just friends and he always talked about my special interests with me.

RE: Where did you meet your current/last partner ?
Mutual friends, school/uni, online, social groups... there are plenty of places and methods to meet people. These days I meet thousands of people through my occupation in fairly exciting situations, so I suppose it's not too surprising that I met my partner through it. My advice is to socialise as much as possible with as many people as possible while being content not to find the right person too quickly. If you're looking too hard you generally won't attract a partner (yes, I know, it's a nasty piece of irony).
Unless you are happy with mindless meat markets, I suggest avoiding pubs and night clubs. This is especially true for aspies/auties, many of whom will not fit in well in these places for various reasons. Having said that, if mindless, stringless meat is what you want, knock yourself out, have fun Also having said that, when friends drag me along to such places I usually manage to enjoy myself greatly, dance and socialise, even though I have no interest in picking up in meat markets and am thoroughly out of my element.
From a bit of a look around the forums, it seems that aspies/auties often find securing a partner to be more difficult than it is for neurotypicals. Is that impression accurate?

Yes it is. I think the internet is one of the best places to meet a partner. Night clubs and pubs aren't so good. The noise and smell is liable to cause sensory overload and shut-downs and make it harder to put across a good impression because your energies are being used to just survive the overload feelings.

RE: Where did you meet your current/last partner ?
My sister got a job at a grocery store when she was in high school.
She met a boy.
I got a job there the next year, and met the same boy.
We were friends for three years.
Then I moved to college, where the boy lived.
I met the boy's brother, George, and we "clicked".
Finally slept with George, a devout Catholic virgin.
George told me I was too interested in sex (age 22).
George introduced me to his roommate, whom he considered a sex maniac, but who was also eccentric.
Met roommate.
Had sex.
Together twenty years now.
Discovered a year ago we're both Aspies.

I met my last partner online, and the relationship lasted just over three years.

On the t'internet. Kerrang music forums if anyone is interested.
She swims accross the leather sea, her skin reflects so beautifully
She looks to me and turns away so this is the last real day
There is a hate that burns within, desolate places I have been
Come back to me, I need to say
I'd breathe for you for just one day
Your god is guilty
Your god is nothing
You'll see things he'll never see
Your god was nowhere
A false confession
And never there to comfort me
Your god is knowhere
Your god is nothing
You'll see thing's he'll never see
Your god is only
A fallen idol
A ghost of sick humanity
