I was going to wait till I had a couple of people read this over, to see if it came across how I meant it, but sod it. it'll be irrelevent soon, so I may as well bite the bullet.

think of it like this;

had they not been such racist ***, and genocidal manics, then it would have been view as remarkable how quickly the country was turned around.

I'll make this clear, here and now;
what happened then was aberrant. nothing could ever excuse it.
Hitler was...a **** homicidal manic. but he was highly intelligent, and, (and this is what makes me doubt the people who say he had AS) he was charismatic.

He was a great man in the way that Stalin,Cromwell and the Roman emperors were; complete bastards.

I will again re-iterate; I am in no way defending or endorsing the ideologies or methodologies used; that would make me a right royal hypocrit.

people of such ilk rise to the fore in times of either great social upheaval (see: the Russian Revolution) or great economic depression, coupled with poor living standards.

eliminate the racists, and more will arise. the word I think I am looking for is "Martyr".

Given the choice, would you go back to WWI and correct the aim of the shell that just missed Hitler?
better the devil you know...if not him, then perhaps someone who was even worse, might have risen to the fore.

tip of the boil; you are seeing it here, first hand. otherwise rational people, become irrational around charisma.

incidentally, Oliver Cromwell was just as bad, if not worse. but you dont hear about that, do you?
