I meant "it" not "ig".

Darn the lack of an edit button.

RE: autlang

Hey there, just found this thread.

I think that autlang could do a great deal of good, because normal human language isn't appropriate for the way an aspie mind works. I don't think we have trouble with language because it's too complicated, I think we have trouble with it for the same reason animals have trouble with it, only to a lesser degree, that is, our way of perceiving and understanding the world is completely different.

If all autlang does is replace existing English words, then it's useless. But if it supplies gender-neutral sentient pronouns, a word for an aspie fit attack, doesn't use 30 different words to describe the same concept, uses consistent spelling/grammar rules, etc, it could be the thing that allows us to truly speak for the first time. Therefore, above all else, I feel this should be the focus. In what ways do you find English, or any human language, conflicts with your way of perceiving the world?

RE: autlang

With all of this exciting talk about autlang, Nathanael shall think about making a v2 or his own ^^.  Joking joking.  I like this language, though it's kinda hard for me to learn because then I'll be trying to learn 3 at one time.  Yeah---

RE: autlang

I have enough problems trying to learn French and trying to remember Spanish.  I think my brain would explode if I tried to learn Autlang. Tongue

RE: autlang

I would just like to say:
I am glad to see that the argument over whether or not Autlang is "worthwhile" has mostly ended.
However, if you STILL would like to continue arguing or just throw in your two cents, please PLEASE make a new thread on that topic and leave this one as a place to brainstorm the ACTUAL LANGUAGE.

Thank You.

some of these words look almost like Hebrew words. Some I've added capital letters to show change to look more like Hebrew phonetics. I didn't do all of them and this ISN'T really meant for autlang it's just a little funny thing I noticed. I don't know Swadeshi so I don't know what that has to do with this list.

RE: autlang

I'm pulling out the dictionary soon, it'll be alot of work, too much for me to be able to collaborate with right away. But what I'll do is once I'm finnished, I'll display it and we can review it and revive it together..... However, I am starting a seperate autism rights movement which is coming along alot slower. I think we need a more aggressive approach if we are to win the fight for equality, and we'll need people who are able and willing to take action. Like marches, rallies, AS schools, businesses, housing developements, recreational facilities, etc. (possibly even a defensive arm).
   I'm taking a more Malcom X-style approach, because we NEED to get aggressive or things will never get better. This conclusion is based on both experience and genetics/sociology. Hate and superiority are strong emotions, and hate has to be removed through fear (NOT terrorism though, just aggressive but legal activism). Fear earns respect, respect earns equality. We already have our web-site, but we're seeking recruits at this time. I will offer up no more information about our group on this forum though.

RE: autlang

I will say that recruits who claim to be AS will be screened. NTs are allowed to help, but only if they don't pretend to be AS, as we need to maintain our cultural identity through the fight. Textbook syndrome people cannot speak for us.

RE: autlang

Ha, well maybe that would be a way for people who can't afford a formal diagnosis of AS to finally get one.

I don't mean to be critical, but the ideology behind it sort of reminds me of Newspeak (e.g. bad = ungood).

It does, doesn't it?

Actually I take it back.  I didn't realize that Norad was a troll until yesterday.

RE: autlang

so kazu had said something was retarded, but he didn't Mean mental retardation as a bad thing, and then i said its just like saying gay, and that we should make up a new word, and couldbecousin said yes we should.

so coveg is the new word.

is new bad word, reffers to someone being intolerant, illogical, and unreasonable.

RE: autlang

is autlang like other languages? and not like English and German? to be only one pronunciation for a verb?

if its not can it be? becuase that would be so much better.

a = ah
e = ay
i = ee
u = oo
o = oh

like spanish and japanese and some of french and some of german/english etc..
