RE: Cartoon characters who might be Aspie

If strip cartoons count, then Mr Logic from Viz is definitely Aspie.

Also I have an inkling Tintin might be - he's got a special interest in investigating crimes, and prefers to keep company with a select bunch of close friends than to socialise with lots of people. What do you reckon?

As the player's breath warms the fipple the tone clears.
It is time to consider how Domenico Scarlatti
condensed so much music into so few bars
with never a crabbed turn or congested cadence,
never a boast or a see-here; and stars and lakes
echo him and the copse drums out his measure,
snow peaks are lifted up in moonlight and twilight
and the sun rises on an acknowledged land.

Izzy (Digimon Season 1)- in one episode, he states about him saying that he wants to deal more with puzzles than with people and he is also hyper intelligent and computer-obsessed (an Aspie stereotype).

Moss (IT Crowd) he's not a cartoon character but he is very convinsingly Aspie as he is very intelligent, is very nerdy/geeky and is very organised and gets really annoyed when things are out of place, like when Roy steals one of the staples and Moss counts them to determine how many staples he took)

Dr Frankenstein from the cartoon Frankenstein's cat.

"Philosophical problems arise when language goes on holiday" - Ludwig Wittgenstein: April 26th (my birthday!) 1889-April 29th 1951 (supposedly HFA Austrian-British philosopher).
Your score: 47
0 - 10 = low 11 - 22 = average (most women score about 15 and most men score about 17) 23 - 31 = above average 32 - 50 is very high (most people with Asperger Syndrome or high-functioning autism score about 35).

What's Aspie about Homer Simpson? He's just dim.

Homer isn't an Aspie, he's just as Aeolienne said: Dim.

Out of the Simpsons, it would be Lisa who has ASD and possibly maybe Principal Skinner and Professor Frink.

IRL he is Aspie, he just plays dim for the show

Really?
The actor: Dan Castellaneta is an Aspie?

I didn't know that; one learns something new every day.Smile

RE: Cartoon characters who might be Aspie

I came in on this string long after it was started so some characters may have been mentioned: but then again opinions differ.  I'll give mine.

The Family Guy:  Christopher Griffin seems to have it.

King of the Hill:  Bobby Hill appears to have it but actually may not have it.  Bobby is rather uncoordinated and poor athletically.  He's also naive and has been taken advantage of by peers.  On the other hand, he's charasmatic, has friends, and even has girlfriend(s).

Beavis & Butt-head:  I must say Beavis and Butt-head are probably too dumb to have Aspergers Syndrome although they have the same love-life frustrations as most Aspie teenage boys.  In addition, Todd (a tough punk) is always harassing them. I would however say that Beavis and Butt-head are both autistic with their repetitive "Uh--uhh-heh-heh-mmm-mmm" "giggling" sounds.  They also have very big heads in proportion to their bodies, but just not enough of the right brain matter to fill their skulls.  Stewart (who wears the Winger shirt) seems to be Aspie.  He's very smart and likes chemistry.  But it seems strange he would look up to Beavis and Butt-head and want to hang out with them.  Dean (a lesser known classmate) seems to have Asperger Syndrome in the way he seems to be nerdy.  I remember an episode where Dean constructed a diorama for a class project.

South Park:  Kenny McCormick may have Asperger Syndrome and his father probably does too.  Bad things are always happening to Kenny.  He's poor because his father can't make a good living.  His father is probably the type of Aspie who couldn't get a good job.

Duckman:  (Eric) Duckman seems to be Aspie in the sense he fails at everything he attempts to do (especially his detective work).  His sister-in-law, Bernice, treats him like dirt and despises everything about him.  In contrast, Duckman was a bully; not one of the bullied; when he was young.  His oldest son, Ajax, appears to have Asperger Syndrome.  He appears awkward and nerdy.  But to counter that, he has a charm about him and got a girlfriend.  King Chicken may have Asperger Syndrome.  King Chicken was Duckman's bullying victim when they were in school.  As adults, King Chicken is a formidable enemy of Duckman.  King Chicken is always out to destroy Duckman in retaliation for all the times he was bullied and is pretty clever at concocting his schemes.

Top Cat:  Benny (the blue cat) seems to have nerd like attributes.

Popeye:  Perhaps Popeye could have Asperger Syndrome.  After all, he always must have his spinach.  He's obsessed with Olive Oyl, but it seems Olive Oyl is playing Popeye and taking advantage of him.  Olive Oyl really seems to gravitate towards the tough bad-boy type of man as she goes for Bluto all the time.  But then when Bluto is hurting her, she calls Popeye to her rescue.

Speed Racer:  Speed Racer may look sort of like a nerd, but don't judge a book by it's cover.  Nobody will mess with Speed Racer and get away with it.[/u]

That's neither here nor there. This thread is about cartoon characters, not about the actors who voice them.

RE: Cartoon characters who might be Aspie

Do you think Dexter or Mandark might have Aspergers?

Mainly Dexter, because he is a bit of a perfectionist, has a short temper when things go wrong (esp. when Dee Dee enters the lab) and is highly intelligent in science and maths, although this may be an Aspie stereotype.

I Think The Soup Nazi from Seinfeld could be an aspie, especially how he wants things in a particular order, he should have been called the Soup Aspie.

I think the real life man based on the Soup Nazi Al Yeganeh could be autistic, as he puts strict rules of ordering soup and does not want like talking much about himself like me.
