I could have been over the top and said something like "NTs would have eventually invented the wheel, but not in time to keep me from being late to work yesterday."  But that's just wrong.  A world without NTs would be doomed as well.  Somebody has to turn down AS people when they ask for a date.  Wrong, wrong, yes I know...Bad Aspie!

As for a long hiatus, I think I registered, read, and left.  Veni, vidi, vadi.  Then, after all these months, I get an email saying "The forum is back."  I never knew it was gone.
