RE: Judge Rotenberg Center report - the horror is hard to read
I wouldn't think about electric shocks, rather I would consider the policy of withholding food as a punishment for bad behavior would have a much higher mortality, considering how few people have behavior problems because it's fun.
Chris Christie is so fat, I was giving a presentation and he ate my pie charts.

I AM DISGUSTED BY THE JUDGE ROTENBURG CENTRE's ANTICS!
If this continues, the entire autistic community would be wiped out!!!

I'm talking about how the electric shock "therapy" could kill.

I should also warn people with the usual: copyright infringement via BitTorrent (or any other means) is illegal and should not be done openly.

If NBC wanted money from this episode, nobody kept them from making it available via proper outlets like Itunes, or another internet company that sells videos. Frankly, I've had an extremely hard time finding any copy of this episode anywhere, even Youtube.
It's the company's own fault for not providing availability. I'm sure though it's the people who have a interest in their product. The only way to see the episode alone, would be to buy the entire season box set. I wasn't about to do that for one episode.

RE: Judge Rotenberg Center report - the horror is hard to read
I just saw the episode. If they're not referring to the JRC, they must be talking about another center that is extremely similar to it.
I thought the ending was very good, showing that this mother who claimed to care for her son, was just looking for a place to dump him. When the center was closed, she said she couldn't take care of him. Well, perhaps she should've considered the reality that not every child is born like a Ken or Barbie doll before having a child. Of course, I do realize I'm talking about people here portraying people like that.
I also thought the actors and actresses they had to play the Autistic children, were very good at portraying the behaviors, even though they were for the most part, extremely stereotyped. I still imagine it would be difficult learning how to behave in that way, without having personal experience with it themselves.
One more thing, I left a sentence fragement in the above post by accident. Why isn't there an edit button available for this forum?
I also deleted the file and the torrent after hearing it was illegal. I just want to reiterate that NBC had more than enough opportunity to make the episode available on it's own through Itunes. So if they wanted to complain about it, I feel hey they had a chance to get their dough.
It just irritates me is all. This is really one of their best episodes in my opinon, however I can see how they wouldn't show it because of the controversy. Even though they seem to have no problem with repeated showings, of the SVU episode regarding a man with Asperger's Syndrome as a out of control serial killer.

I'm not talking about whether it's ethical or not to download it, just giving a warning that it's illegal to do so. These are 2 different issues.

I understand. All I'm saying is hey, I was willing to give the company money. They didn't give me the opportunity to do so, well then they deserve empty pockets.

I'm talking about how the electric shock "therapy" could kill.
It doesn't matter what electroshock therapy could do in theory when students have in fact received severe burns from it, not to mention people have died from starvation because of withholding food.
People don't have "behavior problems" because they liked getting punished, and this is why withholding food as a punishment is, not could be but IS fatal for many students.

Part of their spiel is the dose of electricity is harmless, we shouldn't go on about how people COULD die when we know that people have been burned and that people have died for other reasons. We should stick to what we know.

Well, as Obama has started his presidency by shutting Guantanamo Bay, and ending torture and rendition for terrorist suspects, this may be a good time to bring this regime of torture to his attention.

RE: Judge Rotenberg Center report - the horror is hard to read
I've been lurking on an alternative media news outlet's website for several years as raindog. The place is http://gnn.tv/ and it's largely populated by media activist types. I didn't know about the JRC before I joined AFF, but what I learned spurred me into trying to expand public awareness of this horror by submitting my first headline (an original summary attached to a pre-existing news item on the web) for possible publication on GNN. A few days and it has passed editorial review and is now on the site here:

If any of you would be interested in commenting with additional useful information and/or links there, please do. Alternatively, reply here and I'll add it in the story's comment section myself.
