RE: Autfinity Project

Hi i'm a new user from britain with quite timid aspergis and I love the idea of a place for those with aspergis and other forms of autism. I'm thinking it could be a great place for creativity but at the same time a place where you could be alone if you wanted to.

for those with a bit more of an inventive side possibly a small research centre to test a few theories, where those with the ideas but not the know-how could maybe partner up with others with the smarts to help them make it a reality. It would be a geat way to meet people and work on projects without worry.

for people like me with the inventive but no know-how this would be great but I'm also a bit of a fantasy novelist(mis-spelled?) I'm in the middle of writing the fourth chapter of my first real book but keep hitting a few walls and hurdles.

for those with a more creative side there could be art facilities and writing facilities, computers or manual the choice would be there. i for one am a bit artistic but cannot draw to save my life so I write instead I've been told that my writing is descriptive enough to really paint a picture in the mind of the reader.

RE: Autfinity Project

villagemaker is this just a spam? There is nothing at all on the site to say it would be aspie friendly, its just a tourist place. Tons of nosey tourists is NOT autism friendly IMO.

RE: Autfinity Project

If one project that is geared towards providing a sustainable and viable planned community works, then I think Autfinity might be able to learn something from it.

Uninhabited Islands

Hi, I'm new here. I couldn't help but noticing this thread, and I would like to add my 2 cents. There are thousands of uninhabited islands in the world today. Some get bought up by people. Problem is, they don't come cheap.

RE: Uninhabited Islands

The main reason to go for a independant island is women. I have no problem with nt's other than they make it harder for us to find mates. It's bad enough there are more male aspie's than female on top of that it seems nt's take all of our good looking women through their social ladder playing. We need a state where social culture exists however the culture must be one that is learned intelectually not through hidden social que's.In stead of learning greetings from observation we would read it out of a manual like in the military. Just think if in western culture we had arranged marriages like in eastern cultures ever aspie would have a partner. I don't believe this would be a free liberal  soceity. I'd think of it as a very organized strutured one like japanese culture where everyone follows a culture that can be easily understood by reading out of a book no hidden meaning or anything like that.To keep us from starving to death it's economy would have to based on engineering/technology and banking.

The most basic idea is to have a small hotel or guest house that people on the spectrum can holiday in, that would be run by people who were also on the spectrum.
There could ultimately be numerous concurrent projects, in different areas, run by different people.

Amy I think this is a brilliant idea... if you need any numbers to count for votes, petitions or charity, count me in!
It's little projects like this that will slowly gain Aspies more stability, freedom and acknowledgement in the world.

RE: Autfinity Project

I disagree with this idea.  We should not try to envision a utopia or resort.  We need to focus on things such as ending discrimination of Aspergers, presenting a positive view of Aspergers to the public, and getting Aspergers off of the list of mental disorders.  We need to be realistic and the only way things will get done is if we are realistic.

RE: Autfinity Project

A man-made island or resort made for AS does not sound realistic or desirable for me.  I do however, think that AS individuals should start to develop into more localized communities in which AS populations are more dense.
