what could i do in MY town?

hey guys, i know i dont post much here, but i will get it together, since this site is the only one who shares my (so called extremist) views on aspies.
i was thinking about going to london to "celebrate" the pride day, but then i thought i better do it in the capitol of norway (oslo), but then i thought, why shouldnt i be able to do it in my own town? no matter how small and icolated it is.
there are people celebrating/marching for/demonstrating everything here.
but my question is: what would be some ideas for the day? i dont exactly have alot of people, since my aspygroup only consists of myself and 1 other active member, and  one semi-active member.
would i have to get a permit or something to do a little protest against the NT society?

APD isnt a protest day, so better to do something to celebrate and show people we have a reason to live and be proud.

(Very important with the advent of the prenatal test).

Could you make a street drawing/pavement art with your group?
That takes only a few people and is very visible, and people like to watch such things.
It could be off the infinity sign and write Autistic Pride Day.
All you would need is chalks.
It washes away gradually so it not considered vandalism in most places.

Do people do things like that there?

This would look stunning drawn on the pavement, or if it is not allowed on the pavement, some use large pieces of cardboard laid down to give the same effect.

If its a place where people walk past and its open, its sounds great!
I think when they do a large chalk picture they photocopy the image, then divide it into sections, an draw those sections onto the ground like a grid, so that its possible to keep track of the image on the ground whilst drawing.

It would be wonderful if you could take some photos of it too.

It could be called a 'wonderwall' event, there was a thread about it in the news and media forum. Basically an art event that is a peaceful demonstration of our differences.

That is a great idea, may want to just check you are not going to be asked to move allong if drawing on the pavement before you begin to do so, but as long as it does not violate any laws or regulations does sound like a great fun activity for a small group, not to meantion the fact that it would produce something which would stand testiment to Autistic Pride, at least for a time until the rain did it's usual thing.

small group. indeed. there are 2 people besides myself, and they arent shy but reserved. and there is a gay guy too now tho NT, but i suppose he would be familiar with and into the pride concept.
i have no idea how to do this day and stuff. i dont even want to be in the newspaper yet, cause i want my group to be official first..
i feel like my 2 members will bail on me on the big day of pride..

You dont HAVE to do anything public, of course. Boy and I  will be having takeaway pizza and doing art stuff. I will be emailing people and telling people about what it is and why we are doing it, but otherwise it will be a private celebration.

RE: what could i do in MY town?

Is there gonna be an Autistic Pride Day in Holland? Is someone working on it or not? Are there any people in Holland who are interested in one in Holland? I visit a website where Autists talk about Autism in Dutch, and I already asked if somebody is interested but I 've asked it today so I havent got a reaction jet. But are there any Dutch people here ho are interested or know more about this subject?

RE: what could i do in MY town?

I thought of writing to the local newspaper -- nothing protesty but maybe something along the lines of "hey did you know it's autistic pride day?" and leave it at that. Something neutral. Don't know if I will, though.

Autism Pride Day is on the Second Last week of school, for me. I can easily get my school involved. We've done something like this before loads of times. One times, the whole school was involved. yeah, we can do it again.

RE: what could i do in MY town?
