"Spazzes"?

To be ruled by tradition just means that you're letting yourself be outvoted by the dead.

Not meant as an insult. It's just a word they use on themselves. I honestly like the word spaz. It sounds funny and cute and cool.

RE: Shleed's new site.

Yeah, well, I was called a spazz all the way through high school, and I'm afraid I didn't get the joke.  I just felt humiliated and bewildered when it was directed at me, often in conjunction with having my ribs kicked or my head flushed down a toilet.  I was quite little in high school, and having three or four (or five or six, they were always in gangs) far more muscular girls doing that to me was terrifying.  So I think it's understandable that I'm a little sensitive about the word now.

RE: Shleed's new site.

It has a different meaning when we're using the word on ourselves. It's kind of like when black people use the n-word.

I read the other day that this word is much less offensive to Americans than to British, and also it seems, Aistralian people.   So it's a cultural thing.

Something that few, if any, white people understand.

A more detailed explanation of the more, and less, offensive meanings of the word depending on where in the world you are.

In the phrase "using the word" the correct next word is "about", not "on".  Just a little grammar point, I know, but I've seen it mis-used more than once in this thread alone, and it's similar to fingernails down a blackboard to my hyperlexic mind.
