On second though....

Maybe I was way to quick to pull the trigger and be angry at cracked.com because after reading this article made by a 15-year-old who had Asperger's I think I really did that site some injustice......

I was searching Google for any Aspie created Rifftrax video's (I need to somehow refine my search terms as I didn't get the results that I wanted) and came across that article on cracked.com.

I'll admit I was preparing for the worse but it surprised me how it really turned out actually and I just wanted to apologize for raging against cracked.com and for the possibility of offending any member here who enjoys that site .....

I'm sorry .... Sad

Hi Mario, thanks for the link.  I have to agree with you, this particular article was very good.  I'm going to bookmark it, it's a nice explanation of what we are for those NTs who think we're somehow not human.  Which is, sadly, an attitude I've found depressingly often over the years.

I don't do cracked, but from the comments it sounds like it's pretty much the internet: you can find anything there.

I'm not going to bother reading the comments. They'd probably just piss me off.

Oh, yeah, he is definitely Aspie!  Apparently he used to wander about when he was a child catching and drawing bugs.  He was obsessed with them, making up little stories about them.  It made him a very rich man!

Aspergers isn't autism. I'm sorry, but these Aspies' awkward social graces and anxiety are not something that makes them special (or it does, I guess) or possessing "high functioning autism".

You're socially immature, you're having to learn the more advanced social skills later than most.

Get over it. Or rather, *learn* to get over it. Thinking you can taste light or are ultrasensitive to everything (and then fussing about it) doesn't mean you have autism; regarding everyone not like your self as "neurotypical" is not you "looking from outside in"; it's just you being a jerk.

"Oh, but I get sensual overload when I'm out in public for too long!!" No, you simply sit down for a minute, which is called a "rest". Everyone else does this sort of thing, but self-proclaimed Aspie's let their ignorance fooling them into thinking they are special (again, this might actually be the case with some).

tl;dr - Aspergers is BS for "I like being awkward because growing up is too hard!"

Is there such a thing as an article about Asperger's Syndrome that doesn't have trolls in the comments ? I swear to God that almost every article I've read by Aspies has at least one or two trolls just being complete assholes .. :/

I think it shows the trolls insecurities brilliantly!  I like to poke trolls because it makes them go such a funny colour.

RE: On second though....

I've seen so much trolling on the internet that I have a bad habit of calling anyone even slightly suspicious a troll.

Most of the time I'm right, but when I'm wrong...

I screw up. Badly.

Good idea!  Hums happily, adding a few Redbacks, a Funnelweb,  and a powdered White tail for piquancy...

Loved the article. Great stuff.

Great insight for a 15 year old.

I'd like to add a blue-ringed octopus, a stonefish and a box jellyfish to the troll food. Tell him it's a special seafood platter.

Haha, cool!  Our Troll could then finish with a dessert of Fugu Fish and wash it all down with a nice chilled Tiger Snake Venom!
Interestingly, when I googled Blue Ringed Octopus, one of the items that came up was a restaurant in Melbourne called the Blue Ringed Octopus Cafe.  I don't know what their food's like...
