Ready for Sandy?
Here on the east coast of the U.S., we're gearing up for a pretty nasty storm. The kids' schools have already announced that they will be closed tomorrow.

I hope it isn't as bad as they are saying it will be.
Anyone else on the east coast a little nervous?! I think I'm as ready as I am going to get. I've been to the grocery store, so we've got plenty of supplies. I've put away all of my lawn furniture. I have the flashlights and the candles ready.

I got told by colleagues that they're out of power for 12 hours.

When I looked at the title I immediately thought of Sandy Cheeks from Spongebob Squarepants.

OOh, good luck aspiemomma, I will be thinking of you all.
Keep safe 'k xxx
When I am an old woman, I shall wear purple with a red hat that doesn't go, and doesn't suit me.And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves and satin candles, and say we've no money for butter.I shall sit down on the pavement when I am tired and gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells and run my stick along the public railings and make up for the sobriety of my youth.I shall go out in my slippers in the rain and pick the flowers in other people's gardens. And learn to spit...

I hope you all keep okay. It sounds like a scary one on the news so far.

RE: Ready for Sandy?
Thanks! Don't worry if I'm gone for a bit. It takes them ages to repair power outages around here.
The place where we go to the beach is already starting to take on water!
I think I'm going to reread "Frankenstein" for the millionth time in honor of frankenstorm

urgh! I live on the coast - central jersey - it should smakc us fully by Monday afternoon/evening... I really do hope my power stays on or my basement will flood (why a house next to the water has a basement I'll never know)...
skyblue - nothing in SC?
if you watch the "news" you will see the town I go to church in - Sea Bright - always looks bad - water comes over the sea wall etc.,

Sandy was near South Florida for a short bit, and we're still feeling Sandy's winds here too. :-/ I hope y'all will be okay and remember don't buy milk and eggs. Just reminding people of that. I know you're not going to do that, Aspiemomma, but some people would do that. :S
