Mass Effect...
...It was only a matter of time before I made this thread and like the Reapers you knew it was coming, but despite your warnings no one would listen, they blamed others on the posts.
Now it's here, and soon there won't be a forum left to save. Nah, just kidding. It's just the one thread.
The purpose of this thread is to find others who in short like the series or at least can tolerate my constant references in other threads.
On some random note a "One doe not simply" I created today.

Yes, in every single play through bar my first play through of Mass Effect 2 my romance choice has been the same. Although without Mass Effect 1, she is not available in Mass Effect 2 I choose to wait.
No one cares about that blue tenticled woman
She is the second most popular romance choice in all three games. You look me in the eyes and tell me that no one cares
He did not reply
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXiU6kiq_Ms - Mordin sings
As for the other characters and the rest of the series itself. Let's see what Dean Winchester thinks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rggU5tcgnEk
In a nutshell, the series is awesome. Although I cannot state that I have experienced the entire series as I have not played the first game. From what I have experienced, is awesome.
Special mentions also go to Mordin, Garrus, Jack, Thane, Samara and Legion for being the best characters/squadmates in Mass Effect 2
Other mentions also go to Steve Cortez for being one of the best in three, a damn good pilot too.

RE: Mass Effect...
I had to talk about this
Genesis DLC:
I got this recently for mass effect 2, in short one thing I love about the series is the impact your choices have. But if you have a blank copy of mass effect 2, without a mass effect 1 import or this DLC the choices are random. And they are not good, several people are dead and an **** is the head of the galactic council. God I hate Udina...
The Genesis DLC, drawn and made by Dark Comics with Bioware allows you to make the essential choices of the first game. When I first got this for around 300-320 Microsoft points I assumed this would only be things like who lives and dies, is saving the council worth risking the Alliance fleets...
There was one other thing. One thing that made this DLC better...
Romance. You get to make romance choices. Obviously I chose Liara over Ashley, as far as I'm aware Tali was not an option in the first game and then of course there is always the option to let the mission go forth, without romancing anyone.
Again, one does not simply romance Liara.
So if you're going to buy Mass Effect 2, I'd recommend this DLC to anyone.
EDIT- Almost forgot, it explains things well.

RE: Mass Effect...
Ah, a fellow ME fanatic, then. I love the choice and everything myself. I finally managed to get the Extended Cut and such and it certainly gives a more satisfying conclusion than the original endings did. What did you think of them, Some-Bloke?

The endings, well the original ending compared to the extend cut is a bit like putting a lawn mower next to an Aston Martin or a dog turd to ice cream.
In other words, the other one is so bad that it makes the extended version look even better than it actually is.
When Liara put Shepherd's name on the memorial war...
Jesus Christ. Even thinking about that one moment makes me tear up.

RE: Mass Effect...
I liked the series originally despite some of its flaws but some EA and/or Bioware really put me off of it. I have ME 3 that I bought used since I didn't want to give them any money because of the day 1 DLC and the ridiculous idea of multiplayer affecting the ending but I have yet to finish the game. I'm not sure I will buy the next game that takes place in the mass effect universe.

Though I hate the "multiplayer effecting the ending" thing, the multiplayer itself isn't too bad. I still think that amount of time spent online being the difference between a good and bad ending is simply crap.
I got a save mod that made Diana Abbot (5 galactic readiness) and turned her into something more powerful than 10,000 Dancing Volus. (or Voli)

You can play as a Volus in multilayer. Although I haven't unlocked any Volus characters yet, it's funny to be a drell with a sniper running around with a badass Volus.
Diana Allers...
Why couldn't we have Emily Wong or some other reporter? Jessica Chobot was a terrible voice-actor in the game and I'd punch Diana Allers before I'd punch any other reporter. THAT INCLUDES AMON HOLMES
And now, for some funny stuff relating to Diana Allers
Javik: "Commander, throw the reporter out the airlock."
Shepard: "I would to yo--"
Javik: "Why have you not thrown the reporter out the airlock Commander?!?"
Shepherd: Zieede. We need you back on the Normandy.
Zieede: I'd love to Shepherd but...
Shepherd: Diana Allers took your room.

RE: Mass Effect...
I really hated the fact that they added thermal clips in the 2nd one. They gave the ridiculous excuse that geth technology was used to "improve" current guns but in ME1, you could get geth guns and they didn't have clips nor did any geth in the game ever reload. I don't see how having to carry clips and reload make weapons more useful in any way either. Soldiers now have to carry them, which adds weight, it may also be dangerous if they are damaged (in what way depends on what actually supposedly cools) and if it really was a thermal clip, I don't get why to clip doesn't cool itself after the gun isn't used for a little while.
To me, that just broke the "lore".

I've ran out of clips in Mass Effect 2 and 3 on several occasions and yes it really does add tension.
Epically when you're in the middle of a Collector ship, or even more tense when in the Collector base.
Or on your own, being attacked by waves indoctrinated people and mechs.
((Arrival, just in case))
I actually ran out of ammo more frequently in me2 than 3 surprisingly...

It's pretty hard to run out of ammo in that game and on higher difficulties, the various powers outmatch them completely.

That and ME2 has more combat (in side quests)

RE: Mass Effect...
Never has a video game touched every nerve, every cell and even the very deepest of my soul like Mass Effect did. It is the very game which truely deserves the name Masterpiece. I feel like having lived a whole life going through this and it will always be that game, which i will refer to as the best, until it is my turn to become one with the stars again.
The reason we all love Mass Effect so much is because although Shepard and the characters aren't real, they embody the inner hero we all want to be. Mass Effect is probably the only game that made me think, think about my actions. I've never played anything as emotional as this trilogy, and I probably never will again. I just hope that next games will be as emotional and beautiful as this, but I doubt it.
