Adam and Eve in classic art.

We all know the story of Adam and Eve. Adam was created by God as the first man, and Eve was made from one of his ribs. Obviously, neither had any parents. The question is this: Why is it that every artistic rendition of Adam and Eve shows them with belly buttons?

They had a "DAD." His name is "GOD."

I stand corrected on that point. However, they did not have a mother, and were not born.

Because it'd look weird to not have a belly button and the artists didn't think it through.

Not to mention that the Roman Catholics/Vatican were tyrants in the art world as well. They covered up all the nudity in the classical and ancient Roman and Greek statues and deemed the naked human body as "immoral" with the irony being that a few hundred years prior to the development of Roman Catholicism, the Greeks considered the human body as a work of art.

Obviously they were created in God's image. So God has a belly button, obviously. This is not rocket science.

Nobody gave birth to god. He is omniscient and omnipotent and omnipresent.

But obviously He has a belly button. Because Man was made in God's image.

He is the blind idiot at the center of the universe encircled by his flopping horde of mindless and amorphous dancers, and lulled by the thin monotonous piping of a demonic flute!

The artists wanted to paint naked persons, so they painted naked persons. At that time, art wasn't supposed to be realistic, so they were "idealized".
Moreover, there's two versions of how Eve came into being.

And then there's Jean Effel.

Why don't nudes in art have pubic hair?

As the player's breath warms the fipple the tone clears.
It is time to consider how Domenico Scarlatti
condensed so much music into so few bars
with never a crabbed turn or congested cadence,
never a boast or a see-here; and stars and lakes
echo him and the copse drums out his measure,
snow peaks are lifted up in moonlight and twilight
and the sun rises on an acknowledged land.

Basil Bunting, Briggflatts

Several statues by the Greeks and a couple by Micheangelo do. And with the Vatican censoring everything during the Renaisssance, Micheangelo's original Last Judgment was severely altered that one on the clothed saints was drastically altered to be shown looking towards Christ and away from the naked Saint Catherine of Alexandria who was also radically altered but not by much. The saint above her had his part of the masterpiece chiseled out and redone while Catherine was given a green dress/robe that was had to have the correct shade each day while it was being painted. According to the guy that had to do the first of many censorings of the picture, Micheangelo's spirit kept switching the jars of paint around and making the editor's job much more difficult.
