Toungue  Mozart and Beethoven is REAL music and here's why

That's right, I finally understand and appreciate real music and find songs of modern times too repetitive and mind controlling !

Think for a moment of the repetitive guitar riffs or licks and think about the messages pop songs repeat over and over again. for example:

Alternative song by Alice in Chains called man in the box ! This = mind controlling music This = Satanic message

"I'm the man in the box
Buried in my ***
Won't you come and save me, save me

Feed my eyes, can you sew them shut?
Jesus Christ, deny your maker
He who tries, will be wasted
Feed my eyes now you've sewn them shut

I'm the dog who gets beat
Shove my nose in ***
Won't you come and save me, save me

Feed my eyes, can you sew them shut?
Jesus Christ, deny your maker
He who tries, will be wasted
Feed my eyes now you've sewn them shut

Feed my eyes, can you sew them shut?
Jesus Christ, deny your maker
He who tries, will be wasted
Feed my eyes now you've sewn them shut"

Do you not see how repetitive music and lyrics is mind controlling? Is that really a song? All "Man in the box" by Alice in Chains is is a mind control song because for some reason mankind loves repetitive music without any poetic composing like classical music is..

Beethoven and Mozart on the other hand is a different kind of genre of music altogether now...

Hmm I wonder why the extremely rich would listen only to classical music and not anything that we poor would enjoy?

You have to be in complete denial to say I'm full of crap at this point. There's something for AFF to think about and us conspiracy lovers to really ponder on. I hope LK, Some_Bloke and the rest of conspiracy theorist on AFF appreciate this theory of mine... Food for thought anyone?

So there you have it, that's why I think classical music is REAL music and modern music 90's-Today is really mind control.

Can't beat "Margueritaville" in my humble opinion!  Or anything by Joe Camillieri and The Black Sorrows.

In particular i prefer the classical music from movies and games...  the music from the mass effect series is epic- then again what would you expect?- http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=end...D906vNYJUE ((even if you don't like the series, this music is very epic indeed))

As for "modern music" there are a handful of a few decent artists that try to be different. The rest just do it for the money...
It's not so much these artists I hate, it is the fans. I don't hate justin bieber, but I detest some of his fans for example.

I like classical music in movies too. I never grow tired of Fantasia.

I also love the visuals on this little number.

The three pieces of music I like by Beethoven the BEST are in the following order: The 6th Symphony, Fur Elise, and Moonlight Sonata. I LOVE the 6th Symphony and Think THIS was his best work of all time. I don't see why people tend to like his 5th and 9th Symphony a bit more. I think that they are good but not his best. I collect music boxes and would like to see the 6th Symphony be put on an 18 note movement. I have only seen this work on what I think was a 100 note music box movemeny online and it was selling for over $1000 alone! And what I mean by alone is it was literally being sold by itself! Anyway, Fur Elise and Moonlight Sonata are my second and third because I taught myself how to play Fur Elise after listening to my sister playing it quite often on the piano growing up as well as Moonlight Sonata. And she was an EXCELLENT pianist so those two sounded even better!

RE: Mozart and Beethoven is REAL music and here's why

So far so good the thread went serious despit the fun inviting language of the first postTongue

All kinds of music makes you live the world they represent for a short time, how much you dare try?

Music is a devine blessing that can lift your spirit to heavenly worlds or take down to the bottomless void.

It is also the most effective factor in me liking video games and movies.

RE: Mozart and Beethoven is REAL music and here's why

I believe that in terms of music during the 90's, the whole decade was just copying the 80's. Except for grunge and gansta rap, it all seemed like we all ready heard it before. I mean there WERE some really good songs but a lot of them just seemed to 80's. Between 1950 and 1989, the best and most impacting modern music came out. I mean you had rock 'n roll, psychedellic rock, punk, New Wave, disco, Carpenters, The Beatles, glam rock, arena rock, early rap pioneers, MTV, Madonna, CHer, Micheal Jackson, Billy Joel, reggae, freestyle, country music boom, Jefferson Airplane/Jefferson Starship/Starship, Jimi Hendrix, and Janis Joplin in a short period of time! The 90's? All we got were TLC, Nirvana and Dave Grohl forming Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, and Train. And those are the ones STILL coming out with new material that is original with the obvious exception of TLC and Nirvana since each had a key member of the group die and caused them to break up. Think about some of the biggest names from that decade. Micheal Jackson? 80's superstar. Janet? 80's start. Madonna? 80's. Guns and Roses? 80's. Bruce Springsteen? 70's. See a pattern here people?

RE: Mozart and Beethoven is REAL music and here's why

People were saying the same things in the 80s about the music that was current at that time. I remember my mother telling me that the music people were listening to in the 80s was just "toneless dirges". I did ask "when you were my age, what did people your age say about the music you were listening to?". And yes, it was much the same thing.

Figure out what you like and listen to it.

I was just flicking through a few of my all-time favourite songs on youtube. "Creep" by Radiohead (1992), "Friday I'm in Love" by The Cure (1992), "Long December" by The Counting Crows (1996). 90s music, not so bad. I still regularly hear current songs and think "hey, that's a great song". It is all well and good to be nostalgic for some earlier time when the music was all so much better, but once you put things in context you realize that there is not a lot of difference between attitudes to current music now and 20, 30, 40 or even 50 years ago.

I do enjoy Mozart and Beethoven. I once even painstakingly taught myself to play the first couple of minutes of the "Revolutionary Study", by Chopin, which was an impressive piece of music to play but not really reflective of my mediocre skills at the piano keyboard.

Here's something that might surprise you. In Mozart's day, people were saying the same things about his music.

Found this by accident while looking for accounts of what people said about Mozart back in the day. ROFL.

I loved this from the Wikipedia article that 142857 posted about Mozart and scatology

Wikipedia Wrote:

Reproduction of the original manuscript of Mozart's canon "Difficile Lectu". The words "lectu mihi mars" were intended to be heard as "Leck du mich im Arsch", for which a relatively polite English rendering is "kiss my arse".

Oh for goodness sake, this is just pure bias and you know it. You don't think that classical 'music' is repetitive? How about this:

Daa-da da, Daa-da-da,
Da-da dadada, Da-da dadada,
Daa-da da...

Vienna Waltz, featured in 2001: A Space Oddity

...or how about this!

Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da
BOOM!
Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da
BOOM!

That's right, you guessed it - the 1812 Overtures, first performed with excess cannons left over from the Napoleonic Wars. Now THIS sounds a LOT better -

Under my umberella-ella-ella-eh-eh
Under my umberella-ella-eh-oh-oh

Rihanna Smile

'Hmm I wonder why the extremely rich would listen only to classical music and not anything that we poor would enjoy?' - you say. You're assuming that they do. How do you know that, for example, Bill Gates doesn't listen to Britney Spears (occasionally)? Have you asked him about his taste in music? Or that Mitt Romney doesn't listen to Debbie Gibson and Hilary Duff? I know as a fact that treasurer Wayne Swan likes Bruce Springsteen; he said so himself, on TV and radio.

Your (conspiracy) theories hold no water. Massive fail.

If you write 'Da' and 'daa' a lot, it does tend to be repetitive....
