I decided to make a little countdown to the end of the world, since there's not so many more sleeps left until then!  However, I've got one little problem: due to time differences, the end of the world will come to different countries at different times!  So New Zealand and Australia will be among the first to go!  Damn, I won't even get to see the finish!  Most unfair!  

(I should add, this is a spoof thread, I confidently expect to have to buy Christmas presents for my extended family this year!)

One theory suggests a galactic alignment which would create chaos on Earth because of the gravitational effect between the Sun and the Black hole called Sagittarius A, which is located at the center of our galaxy.

Another theory involves a 'polar shift', which means a reversal of the north and south magnetic poles. Scientists believe that the Earth is overdue for a geomagnetic reversal. However this can take up to 5,000 years to complete and does not start on any particular date.

Just a new beginning
NASA scientists have been thoroughly studying and analyzing the possibility of the Earth ending in 2012, but concludes that 21st December 2012 it will be nothing more than a normal December solstice.

There is simply no scientific evidence to support any claims of an apocalypse on Earth in December 2012.

No planetary alignment
In response to theories about planetary alignments leading to an apocalypse on Earth on December 21, 2012, the scientists say no planetary alignments will occur in the next few decades. But even if they did, the effects on our planet would be negligible.

NASA also say the 'polar shift' theory is totally impossible. Although continents move slowly throughout time, a magnetic reversal is very unlikely to happen in the next few millennia and wouldn’t cause any harm to life on Earth.

The scientists conclusion is that the end of the Mayan calendar does not imply the end of the world, only the end of the Mayan long-count period. The 'long count' is a part of the Maya calendar shaped like a wheel. When we reach the end of the wheel, it will simply turn to the beginning again, just like our modern Gregorian calendar starts again every January 1.

You must not forget Planet X (Nibiru)


The Mayan prediction from what I understand is that the 9 & 13 gods will return and make themselves known.

The Mayan also said that this would be the end of another Age.

They also pointed out that at the end of the other ages, there were always cataclysms of some sort that destroyed/renewed the world.


I would suggest that the return of the giant gas planet Nibiru would be the worst thing that could happen amongst all the predictions.

It has enough electro-magnetism that it would destroy or disrupt our own shield.

The gravitational pull of the giant would be  enough to cause a shift of the earths crust.

The resulting tidal wave which would spread out from the equator where the oceans would have gathered,  Would be as much as 6 miles high.

And of course huge earthquakes and much volcanic activity

After the planet sped by, we would be bombarded by the estimated 1 million asteroids traveling in its wake.

Supposedly Nibiru will appear in the sky on Dec. 21, 2012 .  You will be able to see it 45 degrees to the side and 45 degrees above the sun.

Most of the damage to earth from its travel through the solar system would occur in 2013 & 2014

I lived in Guatemala on and off between 1999 and 2012. The "skinny" I got is that all the crappy programs are gonna be cancelled and it will be only top-quality entertainment on Planet Earth from then on. A few hard-core apocalypscists say it will spell the end of TV as we know it.

Or otherwise, a collective Earth "purging" of all of humanity's ego-gunk to allow humans to once again be open channels for the divine solar-terrestrial intelligence to move through (and as). And yeah, a rough ride for all.

If I could and the world was REALLY ending, I'd kidnap all the famous people I absolutely HATE and put them in Jigsaw inspired death traps. None would be inescapable. The ones who survive would get to literally live another day while those who don't sort of get a mercy killing. I mean they would have died anyway when the world ended so what difference would it make?

Wasn't there scares like this along time ago? I mean Harold Camping won't bother us..... he is in a nursing home and all.

One of my traps involves Rebecca Black and Justin Bieber forced to wear collars that send out electrical shocks that increase in intervals of 10,000 volts. They would be forced to sing karaoke of the most difficult songs EVER recorded such as Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody. If either onw makes a mistake, they get shocked and the voltage increases.It's sort of funny how I normally am not cruel BUT I can be sadistic with my thoughts....
