I'm sick of being a follower of a religion that survives on hypocrisy and lies!

From what I've read on here there seems to be a million different views about Christianity, like for example these Essene beliefs etc...

What would I gain from joining a church ? A freaking social status that means I get to walk around telling people that they live in sin and that I'm better than them because I accepted a man-God who became flesh then allowed him to be killed by some Greek ritualistic way of dying!

There's a million different sectors of Christianity and each claims that their way is the true way! Who here on AFF can pin point which one of these different churches are the one true way ?

You can't because Christianity is nothing but a headache! That's all it is!  

I personally like the Buddhist which originated in India around 500 BC (I think) by a prince who knew that his palace would not protect him from death.

The day he reached enlightenment, Buddhism had began.

I came to the conclusion that Christianity is driving me insane and I'm looking into other religions...

No offense to any Christians but how the living h*** do you know which    version of your religion is the right way to God? If the Holy Bible is God's word then why do you Christians feel the need to revise it every 10 to 50 years ?  

Oh so someone doesn't agree with what God says and you have to rewrite the Holy Bible ? My God it is true! You guys are nitpicking the Bible...

Maybe you Christians should rethink your religion and stop reeling in followers by scaring them with an after life for non-believers complete with an eternal fiery pit and having a rewrite every so few years just to appeal to the right crowd! ...

I want a new religion that isn't fear based or hypocritical and I want one that doesn't contradict itself! ...

why not just try living without religion?

Hm... I use to feel that way as well but I was drifting towards Judaism. This was around the time when I was drifting away from Pentecostalism.

The certain Pentecostal denomination I joined seem to be great at the time, but the church I went to wasn't all that welcoming. They were very unwelcoming when they found out I wasn't Baptized the way they believed in. The only reason I wasn't 'Baptized', is because my relative didn't want force something on me that I wouldn't understand at that time. Also she didn't want me to drift away from the Lord.

I stayed there for a bit, then when I went out of town; I went to one of their sister church's near my vacation spot. They were more welcoming than the one I went to. After thinking for a while, I decided to leave that Pentecostal denomination and find another church. Now I am back to my Baptist roots per se. Even though I wasn't raised in a church per se, I was brought up with Baptist values. At one time I did go to a nondenominational church for a short while. They were nice and kind. I just wish I kept in touch with my friend there.

Anyways... No one denomination is guaranteed to get you to Heaven. Honestly, it's one Lord, one Faith, and one Baptism. The denomination thing is just created by man. The Baptists, The Catholics, The Methodists, and etc... all have an equal chance as far as to getting into Heaven.

As for the revising of the Bible, it's just a re-translation to get a better understanding. The NLT version puts the Bible into plain English, while the King James Version is one of the older English translations.

Is there no after life ? Is there no justice for crimes people had committed on Earth ? I want a religion that isn't wrong to me, what's wrong with being spiritual ? There's Muslim and Buddhism which Christianity had ripped off!

I don't understand following a religion in order to give life meaning. I would have thought that following a religion because you have sound reasons to believe that it is true would be a better idea. But that is just me, I am not suggesting that you would be better off if you think like me.

Buddhism is a religion that a number of people choose even if they were not raised or indoctrinated into Buddhism. I would imagine that you could benefit from such a religion while keeping an open mind as to the absolute truth behind it. AFAIK Buddha did not demand blind faith of his followers.

The Koran (Quran) Is the text of Islam which is the book of the Muslim faith.

The Kabbalah is from Judaism or some part of it. From what Google told me, it's Jewish Mysticism. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kabbalah

I'd rather choose to be spiritual than be some atheist who believes in that Aliens in our past had manipulated some monkey's DNA to create man and that we're really just some part of an Alien experiment .. .

I guess I'm afraid to think there's nothing after death but a dark void and a serial killer can get away with murder when he'll only cease to exist when he finally dies.....

Wait, so the Holy bible is based on the Koran with a Kabbalah mysticism theme ?

Isn't the Koran mainly about Jewish history and the Kabbalah Jewish  mysticism ? Or I'm displaying my ignorance once again... ?

There's nothing wrong with being spiritual. ^_^; I'm just saying. There has been some people that were just spiritual and lived happy lives.

Well whichever you choose is up to you. Make a choice that will make you happier.

I'm liking the Kabbalah more since I think "The Lord of the Rings" is based on it more than it's based on the "American 'Holier than thou' Bible".

I do believe in the all of the universe, that we are all from the same star dust

As far as the god the religions subscribe to, I know its real also

That god may have messed with monkeys also, but we werent monkeys

We were hominids, evolving in our own way

We were Neanderthal & Homo erectus amongst many others.

If you wish to believe in that god as a deity, thats cool

Just remember, that god, is subject to the same laws of Nature as any other species in all of the universe.
