Anyone remember Die Hard 2: Die harder and officer Lorenzo who gives officer McClain a hard time ?

If you did then you'll remember that Dennis Franz played officer Lorenzo in Die Hard 2 and Officer Sipowicz from NYPD Blue and that Officer Sipowicz had beef with an Alfonso Giardella.

It's funny cause the actor who played Alfonso Giardella also played Officer                                      Lorenzo's brother and what I was wondering is was this some sort joke in Die Hard 2 ?

Am I right or am I missing something here ? ....... :/
