How is this thread any different than a white supremacist posting a story of a minority doing something heinous and saying: "Look at that! Look at how minorities commit crimes!!They are ALL INFERIOR!!!!!111one"?

My feeling is that Vampslord is confusing political opinions that people attach their religion to with the religion itself. I mean, look at all the Christians out there that aren't saying that a 10-year-old rape victim should have to carry the baby to term. They're quieter about it, so they aren't as visible, but my guess is that there are a whole lot more of them.

Well I just don't take backwoods fundie hicks seriously. Every group of people has its fair share of idiotic shitheads. Christians aren't any different. You always get know it alls who have the answer for everything. -_-

Well I get too emotionally drainded to want to speak up for every little thing. I guess I'm not Chjristian anymore, though. I am agnostic. Oh well.

I don't think the Republicans will ever repeal abortion rights in our lifetime. If they were, they would have done it already. It's really just a good campaign point to energize their base (mostly single-issue voters).

On the other hand, I would like to hear more from the silent majority of Christians. As an atheist, I have a lot of respect for those who follow the spirit of what Jesus said, no matter what the letter of the Bible might say.

I went to a Catholic school that was anything but fundamentalist. But I can guarantee that they would have backed forcing any girl, regardless of age or circumstances, to carry a baby to full term. This sort of attitude is not limited to fundies.

I think the girl had been through more than enough. Throw the uncle in a prison cell marked "never to be released". And the parents of a child in this situation should be strongly advised not to tell the girl that she is pregnant, and to terminate the pregnancy.

Justice must be independent and protect the citizen in the best way possible. Religions, Groups, Associations, Parties, can defend its principles within the law, but that law should not be bound to them. So, must try to speak in right language: For me, between two lives, is not lack of compassion to withdraw the life of one who is threatening another's life. It's a case of life-threatening for the mother. In many countries , when most people are religious, there're already laws that allow abortion in cases of rape, risk to mother's life and anencephaly, etc, with understanding  of the most.
Instead, indicate, for the sake of public health, a eugenic abortion (to prevent some alleged mental illness,etc..) is questionable.
It seems, that in the USA (not only) has a strong influence of a false morality that has nothing to do with Christianity. I don't know much about their internal politics but, I really think most of these people don't  even believe in religion. They're on their own personal opportunist postures and also has the proselytizing of unscrupulous politicians and fundamentalist extremists, who just found the easiest way for them to escape with some of their abominable deeds.

End eugenics, end eugenic abortion.  It's as simple as that. Unfortunately there are many on the right wing who want these babies carried to term to provide lower rungs on the social ladder that they can step on, along with anyone who isn't white, rich, and Christian.  Trig Palin notwithstanding.  Laws like the Americans with Disabilities Act aren't popular on the right, because they restrict businesses from discriminating against disabled people.  Oh, and how they hate helping people who can't help themselves.  "Whatever you do to these least ones, you do to me."  If I am right (on the whole god/religion thing) then when they die they will stop existing.  If they are right, well, they've told me about all the horrible things that will be done to them.  LOL
