possible travelling

Seeing as there is a change in plans, and I'm possibly unable to start graduate school until Spring semester (starting January); I'm wondering about the possibility of travelling for my semester off.

I want to get some of these desires taken care of, and off of my system. Plus, I want to have happy, explorative, and rewarding times. I want to do things that are adventurous, and have once in a lifetime experiences. These are the things that will make me happier, and forget about the negatives.

Anyway, I want to know how I can be able to do this.any ideas. I've looked into overseas volunteer opportunities, working overseas, and there is one last option of using money from my trust to travel around (that's if I can access it before age 25).

This remains something that I can plan, and strive for this upcoming season.

Plus this is a way for me to make up for lost, unhappy time.

RE: possible travelling

You may be able to get work teaching English. I've known a few English teachers on my travels, the money tends to be rubbish but the adventures are many.

Just be aware that some countries are a LOT more racist than America. Be sure to include a photo with any job applications, you don't want to fly halfway around the world for a job only to find that they thought all Americans are white (this does happen).

Yes.  I'll never forget the treatment an African man was receiving in a Russian government building.  He was the only African man I'd seen in the month I spent there.

Apparently China is the same way.  I saw a news story about it recently, I'll try to dig it up.

Don't be discouraged by that, it is a great way to get some experience and there are plenty of places to choose from Smile  I'd just hate for you to get excited to spend time somewhere only to find that they're not going to be so friendly.

With a little research about the culture, I think it is a positively fantastic idea!
