The 60's.

Anybody here interested? I'm very much into Mod culture since discovering Quadrophrenia - I'm also pretty much a hippie too, as I love psychedelic music and I'm against war, violence, destruction of the environment and have very liberal views. Anybody into anything to do with the 60's here?

RE: The 60's.

Actually we were just red-necks with long hair

We went around spouting all that peace and love stuff cause the hippie chicks (redneck girls in bell bottoms) liked it.

And they put out, so we kept it up.

It was great ( except for the gonorrhea and hangovers)

RE: The 60's.

I barely remember the 60s, I was born in 1965. I remember hippies, long hair, people saying "groovy" and flashing the "peace" sign.

The 80s saw a big revival of 60s fashion and music. The 60s was infinitely groovier than the 70s or the 80s IMO, so I wouldn't be surprised if the 60s were to become fashionable again at some point.

RE: The 60's.

In my country the mid/late 60s was when "the troubles" started. It's much more of a scary than swinninging 60s where I live.

Very interested. I love the music of that era and get my musical inspiration from that era.

RE: The 60's.

I was born in 1961, the thing I remember most of that time was how women in Australia were treated as second-class citizens and how everybody just accepted the status quo.  Oh, and the hair.  Lots of it, all over the body.
