RE: Is this guy for real?
Okay, I'm doing something I never thought I'd do: Question someone else's diagnosis of a disability.
Anyways, the other day I clicked on a video on youtube about a guy who supposedly has classic autism.
What disturbs me more, is that he uploaded a video of himself (recorded by another caregiver) playing with a 10 year old girl who has cerebral palsy.
I don't know but something about this guy is just off....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xsx3GN6U7...ature=plcp
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56fhjqRgw...ature=plcp
From what you said, he hasn't done anything wrong (I hope this is not about to go towards "he's a pedo" accusations if thats what it is xD), but I will check the videos out
I always wonder why
When you look down into my eyes
My feeling swiftly changed between happiness and sorrow
And tears begin to fall
I’m not you and you are not me
But your pain becomes my pain
When you are sad, I’m the one who foolish cry
When you are wounded, my heart is hurt more

RE: Is this guy for real?
It seems like it could be some kinda joke in that scammy caps format but then again I know someone else who was diagnosed and definitely is and has epilepsy and everything that types weird and corny and cheesy with his videos and intros and stuff... He may not even realize how he comes off, and I think some people would do things like that if it werent for thinking it looks like that.
Anyway, checked out both. Some people really do act like that. He's taken a risk recording it (kinda like the nichole girl getting trolls and rude comments becuase she appears to have a disability) Undecided.

RE: Is this guy for real?
People get so wound up about adults enjoying the company of children. If you think logically about it, that's actually why people decide to have children and live with them - we don't just reproduce for the biological reason and kick our offspring out of the home as soon as they can fend for themselves. It seems it's suddenly 'weird' and 'wrong' if they don't happen to be your own children (although step-parents presumably enjoy the company of theor partner's children without it being an issue)
As I've mentioned here before, my best friend is a 16-year-old girl, and she's been a good friend of mine for two or three years. Fortunately, her parents don't have a problem with this. We hang out (usually at my place), listen to music, talk about books, go to the theatre and so on. She's really cool.
Everyone else - live with it!

Hm... I couldn't watch the entire video(s), but I am not one to question ones diagnosis. He had some side effect from an injection he received from the armed-forces. From what I read from the video(s), he always had an ASD but it was 'aggravated' due to the injection. Oh well I think we should leave this alone and let it be.

RE: Is this guy for real?
I was doubtful when I saw the video and he referred to having an "autistic seizure", as I didn't know that autistics were any more liable than the general population to have epileptic seizures, but when I googled it I found statistics that say one in four of us do. From puberty to the age of 28 I did have mild petite mals, but haven't had a recurrence since then. Who else here has/had epilepsy? If it really is such a high proportion shouldn't we know about it? Or does everybody and I am just hopelessly out of the loop? XD
Really curious to know.

I don't get seizures, I dont think at least... When I was younger I used to wonder whether I would get tiny seizures, because once in awhile I would space out and say/do something involuntary- I remember one time when I was 14 I was in an icecream parlour and I think some school friends were talking about what icecream they liked, I remember looking around*, then I blanked out for a few seconds and found myself saying "toffee icecream". The school friends all were agreeing with me that toffee was a good flavour- however I was nonplussed for 1) I hate toffee, 2) I did not even know it was an ice-cream flavour (I had to look up and read the menu on the wall to double check), and 3) I have no idea how/why I said that -it was completely involuntary.
However, that type of stuff did not happen very often... I remember being worried, though, that my brain was fighting off a potential seizure when I didn't get enough sleep or something. It may be related to the fact that severe migraines run in my family...but I've never had one.
*NOTE: I re-edited this post and changed a small detail which I had reversed (in case you read the original version and saw that it changed)

My autism acceptance sig was too big and broke every single thread.

Well people on the spectrum are prone to seizures or might have epilepsy. It just isn't talked about, because some professional just associate it with the spectrum. :S
Personally I had five to thirty second blanks as I call them which is close enough to lite-seizures. :S
I don't have epilepsy but it runs in my family.
