RE: 'Autism At Work' survey
Is this survey cleared with Gareth or Nu? If not I suggest asking them.

Could you explain please? (ie. Who are Gareth and Nu, and what/why should I ask them?)

Gareth owns the site. Nu is an administrator. There is a rule that you cannot conduct research on AFF without getting their permission.

Just PM either one (Gareth will probably be your best bet for a time). Here's their profiles. You can PM them from there.
Gareth

By the way, Nu actually spells his name as ῦ, which is the Greek letter Nu.

RE: 'Autism At Work' survey
I now have permission from Gareth for this survey. Thanks, and apologies for not realising I had to answer in advance.

RE: 'Autism At Work' survey
Thank you. The results are going to be very helpful in developing trade union action for autistic members.

RE: 'Autism At Work' survey
Now I'm interested whether the trade unions round here have some offers for autistics ... we'll see.

RE: 'Autism At Work' survey
I did not do the survey because I do not have a job - not for a long time.
I could check off several items on the lists but I will tell you the most important issues - what concerned me most was the bullying particularly when it had to do with safety issues and policies. I have had this happen to me in the past. Often policies about work rules and safety issues were never covered in training. Actually I had several jobs where the training was to shadow another worker for 2 days and they would informally cover some information - but it was too much - overload.
The problem with the safety issues would be that people would tell me to do activities that were unsafe - and they knew that it was unsafe. If they were being sarcastic - I could not tell. Actually it is against the law to do this where I live but I find that complaints are rarely investigated and workplaces are only investigated when there is a death or serious injury.
What I really often need is a guardian angel who will mentor me for longer than two days on the job. I would rather work with someone who is going to protect me. I never let anyone have an injury around me at work - even if they got angry at me.
