Fairfax (major media organization in Australia), in addition to having to downsize and sack hundreds of journalists, is being bought up by the world's richest woman. Who is also a massive player in the Australian mining industry and who has several agendas to push.
And guess who is refusing to sign the "Charter of Editorial Independence"?
I guess she has her eyes on the sort of influence she can wield if/when she becomes a majority stakeholder.
Not like she needs it - politicians in Australia of all persuasions seem keen enough already to do her bidding. But I guess when you have that much money a little more influence never goes astray, and is easy enough to buy if your pockets are deep enough.

Yeah, it's like the (New York) Post ...
(they have a good business/financial section due to the NY stock exchange and a good sports section due to all the expensive / good sports teams, yankees, etc., ) but it is a "rag" or "tabloid" in every other way.
oH AND fox got more people to watch their channel/s when they paid a bloody fortune for thr rights to air the NFL... alas, the first shows that Fox (that so called "christian conservatives" agree with on politics) put on are/were THE worst - as in NOT in lone with so called "religious morals". Do as they say, not as they do...
