Yes, I heard the old adage. I'm doing what I can to change things I don't like. It isn't happening. Now what?

I thought that actually putting forth the effort would produce some results, but not for me it has.

I've heard this trick suggested. Don't know how well it works, but it might be worth a try. Imagine you're being interviewed at some point in the future after you've met your goals. What would you tell the interviewer when you're asked how you got to where you want to be?

Whatever the answer to that question is, those are the steps you need to start taking to get there.

As far as taking steps to do what you want, I'm more than doing so. Problem is, it doesn't seem to be getting anywhere.

It usually takes a lot of work to get what you want. The exercise I told you is just to get an idea of where to start. You might have to change your plan as you go, since you can't foresee everything before it happens. The important thing is once you have a plan, keep at it and don't give up.

I've actually been going through a similar process myself. I haven't seen much of anything happen yet, but I'm hopeful.
