Do you ever mix up letters of two words in speech? If so, want to share?
For example, I meant to say that I was going to "shovel the snow", but it came out I was going to "snovel the show".
I do this now and again...

RE: Spoonerims
I have strange associations between words and phrases with the same number of syllables, which is kind of spoonerism-like - sometimes I call a frying pan a swimming pool, and I get the words kitchen and bathroom mixed up. When I write down numbers I often transpose two in the middle - someone says 1357 and I write down 1537. Happens all the time, but I know to double check now. I assume these are AS-related but don't know.
is that all there is?

Back in the old days when my family had a VCR player, If I wanted someone to fast forward, I would ask them to 'forward-wind' it. I think I derived it from 'rewind'.

RE: Spoonerims
Didactic alert: should be "Spoonerisms".
And yeah, do it a lot. It's as if my tongue gets ahead of my mind and begins to trip up. And yet, I can recite tongue twisters without a problem. It only happens when I'm talking and perhaps too tired to pay close attention to the internal script that runs through my mind all the time. It's a de-coding problem, I think.
My favourite Spoonerism is "Riding around town on my well-boiled icicle". Plus "You are always hissing at my Mystery lessons" is fun, as well!

RE: Spoonerims
instead of exclaiming "son of a b****" when i am frustrated with something, i say "son of a chicken!" to the general amusement of all within ear shot.
son of a chicken may also take the form of "son of bawkaw! (imitation of a chicken noise)"

RE: Spoonerims
This reminded me of a Kenny Everett character, Cupid Stunt
When I am an old woman, I shall wear purple with a red hat that doesn't go, and doesn't suit me.And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves and satin candles, and say we've no money for butter.I shall sit down on the pavement when I am tired and gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells and run my stick along the public railings and make up for the sobriety of my youth.I shall go out in my slippers in the rain and pick the flowers in other people's gardens. And learn to spit...

RE: Spoonerims
Another Spoonerism, on the occassion of the birthday of Queen Victoria: "God bless our queer old dean!" (Dear old queen)

RE: Spoonerims
^In the cartoon How To Be a Gentleman, Goofy is instructed to say, "My dear queen, how delightful to make your acquaintance," but he says, "My queer dean, how delightful to acquaint your maintenance!"
If they take my hand, will it be to burn me or to say amen?

RE: Spoonerims
I have a tendency to say "Breast Fiend" instead of "Best Friend".
Odd thing, the spoonerism.
It is important to be yourself, but, more important to be yourself proudly.

I've known a few of those in my time.
