Tiger painting

acrylics on paper

...had painters block so  I thought I'd have a go at something totally different for me - I usually 'do' human portraits. Am pleased with the result and it's off being framed.

I LIKE IT, I LIKE IT, I LIKE IT!!!

one of my favorite poems:

THE TYGER (from Songs Of Experience)
By William Blake

Tyger! Tyger! burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

In what distant deeps or skies
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand dare sieze the fire?

And what shoulder, & what art.
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart began to beat,
What dread hand? & what dread feet?

What the hammer? what the chain?
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? what dread grasp
Dare its deadly terrors clasp?

When the stars threw down their spears,
And watered heaven with their tears,
Did he smile his work to see?
Did he who made the Lamb make thee?

Tyger! Tyger! burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?

(1794)

RE: Tiger painting

It's a beautiful painting, absolutely gorgeous.

When I am an old woman, I shall wear purple with a red hat that doesn't go, and doesn't suit me.And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves and satin candles, and say we've no money for butter.I shall sit down on the pavement when I am tired and gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells and run my stick along the public railings and make up for the sobriety of my youth.I shall go out in my slippers in the rain and pick the flowers in other people's gardens. And learn to spit...

RE: Tiger painting

Thank you folks; my paintings tend to be a bit cartoony - as my avatar -so it's a step forward...

It looks real.  Very beautiful.

It just glares deep into my soul! Such great depth, and such great attention to details; such fantastic colors! Great job.

RE: Tiger painting

Thanks, am trying to paint a (friends prized) cow at the min; not quite as alluring as the tiger. It's difficult finding time as something always crops up.

I like tigers

I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it will be with a knife.
