PTSD and autism-- inally, they understand!

http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Autism/Can-...how/688263

This might be an old article, but I agree with all of it! I have never had aversives done on me, but the way people treated me like I was stupid and how I couldn't like it OR admit it had happened and defend myself, then the way others treated my reactions as further autistic traits that were "bad" did traumatize me. I also identify particularly with the "they're supposed to help me but they're hurting me" bit.

Genocide is defined as "any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial, social, political, economic, intellectual, familial, genetic, or religious group, as such: killing members of the group; causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group; [and] forcibly transferring children of the group to another group."

RE: PTSD and autism-- inally, they understand!

Thank you for posting the link, it's extremely helpful!

I'm researching individuals on the spectrum who have been wrongfully charged with DUI for my "Driving While Odd" project.  Being arrested is traumatic, and even more so for safe sober motorists who find themselves herded through the cattle chutes of the "justice system" as a result of perjurious police officers with quotas to fill.

DUI? Driving under the influence? Surely a breath test shows whether you're over the limit or not?

I wonder if PTSD can be part of autism just like they have made it out to be with OCD, anxiety, sensory processing disorder, learning issues, dyspraxia, and depression?

League Girl: It should be. Also, you forgot ADHD. Smile
