I have decided to spare the community the essay I wrote on the reasoning for this as it would not be productive, with that said.

We need to organize. We need to push into society the idea that we are a minority instead of a disease. Until we accomplish this, all other goals are merely dreams.

My suggestion is this, let us organize conventions, and when we see what kind of numbers we can muster, let us organize rallies to raise public awareness, and gain support of our goals.

Let us forgo the details for now and simply set out to gather as a group, rather than a mass of divided individuals.

I agree with this.  We need to start making our voice heard in the larger community. As for those who will accuse us of being "high functioning" and not real representative of Autistic people as a whole I say those who can represent have a duty to do so for those who cannot.  The Judge Rotenberg Center is attending an ABA conference in Seattle.  If anyone in the NW is interested in this send me a message
