O.K. This was written as part of an assembly that I intended to do at the local school. It then got published in various magazines / papers etc...
After being asked the other day If I was a Satanist on here i thought it may be appropriate to post this. As with Aspies, we are classed as a minority group, Punks are also minority groups.. and there are a lot more minority groups out their that some of this could actually apply to with a few changed words...

In the hope of educating people ...

This is called

PUNX FOR PEOPLE

Many people look at us, Many people stare. Here come the freaks with their spiked up, pointy hair. Well here’s a sheet to tell you of all the things we do, of all the things we talk about and all the things for you. We may look different, but we don’t really care, if all you can think about, are the clothes we like to wear.... The more important things in life, pushed back in your queue, just so you can talk about us looking differently from you!

With our pointy hair, the clothes we wear, the Dockers on our feet. The safety pins, the lip rings, that you see in the street. While we are fighting for a cause, to get our message heard, To stand out from the crowd, is it really so absurd? Domestic violence, drug abuse, Disability, what’s the use?.. Murders, rapes, The closed off tapes. Child abuse, the lack of jobs, The colour of your skin. For us, it is a long hard fight. The lack of jobs, the endless plights.

Many people look at us, many people stare, Nothing better to talk about, than what we like to wear. I’ll tell you a little something, that might help you see, We live the reality, and we say it as we see. It’s a way of life for us, and we are different, me and you. But why can’t you see, that nobody else is like you too!

Raising money, putting up fights, pushing forward for everybody’s rights! We are not selfish, we are not greedy, we fight for the poor, We help with the needy. We are our own people, fighting to survive. Fighting for unity, fighting for our lives. Fighting for all of us, can’t you see. To make a better world, A better place for you and me!

I like it!

That's awesome. However, is Punk really that counter-culture anymore? They have a band on Jake & the Neverland Pirates consisting of Sharky & Bones, and they claim they're playing "Pirate Punk Rock." I mean, maybe it's more counter culture where you are, but I'm like "Aww, isn't that cute!" lol. I think it's like, if you are counter culture and don't live in a major city, or you live outside California, you're going to be considered a freak.

All RIGHT! This is something I have believed for a long time, the whole thing. Can't those fools talk about something  REALLY a problem? Can't those fools realise that they're the fools because of that, and not us? And indeed I do believe sometimes that our lives are really on the line.


It'd be easier to read if you put it in lines... but in paragraphs it still makes a point!
