RE: Political orientation

I doubt that very much.  The American government is center-right compared to the rest of the world, but it has an embarrassing approval rating.  Most people don't like anything called Obamacare, but when polled on the things that Obamacare does, they like it a lot.  Most Americans do not want to government interfering with sex, birth control, or abortion.  Most Americans are worried about the deficit and the economy.  The republican party made huge gains making promises about the latter, but once elected these "tea-party" republicans did nothing but the former.  This has nothing to do with "neurotype," it is simply what we get for allowing these constant attacks on education and learning.

If you read your machiavelli, it'll be easier to understand why these ideas are so prevalent in our government.  Talk to people, you may find some right-trending responses on certain social issues, but overall we want to have the power, not give it over to the government or to the rich.

Seems to be a common thread of modern right-wing statecraft.  Knowledge is power, therefore a populace wanting and able to acquire knowledge is a threat to all incumbent politicians and rulers.  So our rulers break education systems, and tell people that it makes them better off.

Absolutely. It may be the aspergers but frankly, I find it hard to fathom how anyone but the most ignorant or self righteous sociopaths can find right wing ideas seductive.

I often meet people who are in no way stupid who share similar life experiences yet frequently support political parties opposed to their own social and economic interests. I know few people directly of my own social group that would subscribe to Socialism or Marxism. The way in which the mass public are so easilly hoodwinked by the propaganda of the likes of Fox and the Murdochian media just serves to alienate me further. Most people are NT's, I'm fast arriving at the conclusion that the right wing is something that NT's gravitate towards?

It would be interesting to see if there is any correlation with neurology and political opinion.
