I don't really understand the idea of political parties and classifying yourself as one or the other.  Each party is supposed to represent certain positions on the current issues, but how can any individual's positions match entirely (or even mostly) the positions represented by only one party.  I look at the current issues and decide how I feel about it based on deep-seated beliefs I have about the world.  Some of my positions match the "conservative" positions, some "liberal," some "libertarian," and some are completely unique.  The positions of the parties will change somewhat over time, but mine are pretty stable.
