Case in point, woman gets knocked up and rejected, hope she learned something before she found another guy and married him.

Heh, on my birthday, I went to the bar and an attractive, scantily clad coed bought *me* a drink, and began flirting with me- heavily!

So, naturally, I spent ten minutes telling her about food storage technology as a method to end post-harvest productivity losses and reduce food insecurity in rural sub-Saharan Africa, and the problems of implementing these and other programs in nations with weak democratic institutions.

She was not amused.

Sorry about the buzz kill (psych), but would you have even considered an aspie woman, perhaps dressed in a practical style, who would have been relieved that SOMEONE in that bar was able to have an interesting conversation?

I've had more than my fair share of men interested in me, but I didn’t want to give up and buckle under, so f**k ‘em (figuratively)!

Actually, I've found that I do get along with Aspies better in general and develop meaningful crushes on Aspie women much more easily. My first girlfriend was an Aspie and being around her was actually fun, because you could have a conversation. We broke up when I went to college after a long period of wavering on commitment issues. I still miss her. My second girlfriend (who I broke up with over two years ago- I've had nothing approaching a date since or even much flirtation outside of that night I botched at the bar) was an NT girl I knew from high school- we were both going to college. We had nothing in common and nothing to talk about. It was pretty dumb, in retrospect. Since then, I've been more or less unable to develop crushes on anyone, except, of course, for this one young woman I met, started getting a crush on, and, lo and behold, she gets diagnosed an Aspie (fun times- I got to introduce her to the self-advocate community). Of course, she's a year my senior and seems romantically uninterested in me as far as I can tell, and she's going to graduate and move away within two weeks, so that's probably a lost cause unless I can sweep her off her feet over finals week while also finishing my ridiculous workload. Seems unlikely.

Man, I hope she doesn't read this... but I don't think she's on AFF.

Anyway, yeah. Point is, Aspie women are awesome.

Would love to see some stuck up woman with male trash.

i don't think a woman's personality can really be gauged by their level of attractiveness.

Shrek - please check yourself - this is an insulting sort of comment in total and quite a broad generalization... and also I do not think true at all... and sort of mean... thanks.

Because they're just too hot for words.

Anyway,I'm not sure if this is just getting to be a spin off of the claim that guys in general have a hard time getting dates vs girls. (Which, must include more lesbianism, or imply that girls hop around more, because... for every straight date a girl has, gues what? a guy has a date too. (I don't think anyone really can claim what they know about THAT, as if they know most of the worlds or even the country's people) Please provide stats of aspie males and aspie females. CX.

I think a number vs females could be due to an image being seen as negative in males and not females? Like, red hair. Some people love it on girls but not on guys.

Oh bother Sad I'm a red head... so.... its only natural.... Sheesh

Having too many options... means you may marry younger because you can. Also note human brain's judgment center may not mature until age 25 and women and some men do marry that young. Anecdotally we know that people have prejudices when young they lose when they get older. So it is possible people may marry while still prejudiced.

Sometimes you get paid back for what you do... that is life

How often does that work? Only reason why I am asking is that some aspects of dating, relationships, and marriage usually center on the Male being dominate in his approach to the opposite sex. Usually it deals with confidence, and somewhat getting to know the person. Am I getting the understanding here?

RE: Why do Aspie Males Often Struggle With Dating and Relationships

This thread made me think. I would certainly have married for size myself, ironic isnt it, because the art I made from the twenties reflected cultural opinion. Later about 23 I became a Christian and refused to pursue outside the faith, I was thinking of a woman who is still unsaved I gave up, who seemed to like me. Even now though I wish I wasnt marrying so large.... I can accept bigger, but to a point.

Why marry Christian?

1. The person who knows how to really hold another Christian accountable to God is almost certainly another Christian, they understand the trials of Christian life
2. Worry about the salvation of the spouse
3. and kids. Kids may accept other spouse's religion instead. Especially momma's.

I could be bitter about this.... sizes

I will admit- that in young/er women, they do admire confidecne and are attracted to that quality.  (and what I sort of thing Shrek meant - they may be too young and be fooled by false cockiness- and the guy by outward beauty... and on both sides one never knows how the other will mature - or if they will even.

meanwhile older women,(being wiser) I will stipulate do tend to care more about inner qualities, not a facade of confidence - / but plenty of young women are wide and plenty of odler women are not/
I am not too sure I agree (at all really) with the whole dominant male thing - I think that is way old school.

Not very often. Marriage is delayed nowadays and many do not marry at all. If it is not a marriage she can change her mind when she gets older, leaving a marriage will really cost you if you believe in divorce. But most of my lady friends were married by 24 and made their husband choices even younger. And practically everyone at least tries to have a sexual relationship of some sort by age 25.

RE: Why do Aspie Males Often Struggle With Dating and Relationships

Maybe Jane Austen old school to be exact... I've been looking/waiting for the right girl for a long time.... sometimes its hard because I can't tell they actually like me, or just put on a a false personality. I know I'm a bit fat (I'll admit it because I need to work on it) yet realizing I need to make myself approachable needs to be done. Who knows :-/

RE: Why do Aspie Males Often Struggle With Dating and Relationships

Maybe there is some kind of test going on in my head.... The idea of relationships to me is kinda the need for wanting to know people, but looking for friends in real life in order for that to happen is kinda hard.

I thought the same, pursued it, got married (twice), and decided its not all its cracked up to be.

With my sex drive waning, I have totally lost interest altogether. I am my favorite person to hang out with.

Maybe sex drive was all it was about...?
