I heard some young guy once complain about women, why do they always go around in groups?  I would have thought that was obvious, there's safety in numbers.  Like the flocking behaviour of birds or fish or gazelles.  But that is not usually an option for we loner types, who have to depend on ourselves to survive.

Guys who complain about women going around in groups... you've got to wonder about that. A lot of guys indulge in predatory behaviour, whether or not they call it that. When you hear guys saying how they hang around near the ladies room... so they can see which women have had too much to drink and are getting a bit wobbly... I find that disturbing. I used to work with a guy (20+ years ago) who was always going on about what a ladies' man he was. One time I was out drinking with some guys from work, an obviously very drunk girl came up to me and prodded me and asked me if I had a light. I said no and left it at that.... but the ladies' man was onto her like a rat up a drainpipe. One of the girl's friends, a sturdy lass, came over and dragged her away then put herself between the girl and my sleazy colleague. That is why women go around in groups. A single girl by herself also has a high probability of having her drink spiked.
