I like your theory of how the playgrounds are ran by instinct of children rather than closely monitered by staff.

In this way, are we primal beings even in our most domesticated forms?

I would rather hear a story of an autistic child taking a beating at school and going down as an awareness raising story, rather than of an autistic child getting suspended/expelled for "defending" his or herself.

We go through far too much as children for adults to think they bare the responsibility to subject them to learn ways of coping on their own. Elementary schools need more "special education" for neurotypicals for an improvement in functioning for the entire school in general.

I should not imagine the attacker to have developed a resentfulness against the child with autism for having been reprimanded... What a shame...
