For most electronics, you would use a soft cloth. Slightly damp is okay for any parts that don't have contacts (and by the way, don't touch the contacts with your hands). The important things is to not get any moisture inside the unit.
On the other hand, if it is cracked, you should send it back and ask for a replacement.

If it's a hair inside the screen, contact Amazon, they'll give you an RMA and replace it.
If it's a crack, again, contact Amazon and they'll RMA it.
I didn't even think about the hair being inside the screen. To clean that out, you would need to get inside the unit, which would void the warranty, which means you would need to send it back.
