I looked up the answer to the first one and didn't even attempt the other two. And even after the explanation, I still don't understand it.

However, whilst I'm playing in the sandpit, I'll amuse myself with doing a little transliteration. We are studying this now in uni as the subject applies to the science of hermeneutics, and I'm enjoying it immensely. Mainly because there's not a number in it, it's ALL about the written word. Sweet!
I should add that what we are studying is *philosophical* hermeneutics as it relates to traditional Japanese texts, rather than the religious variety. Just a little distinction, but, I think, an important one.
