we petition the obama administration to:
State and federal prisons need to better identify inmates with (AS) Asperger Syndorme and provide adequate accommodation
Asperger Syndrome is a pervasive developmental disorder (PDD). Asperger Syndrome was not added in the Diagnostic Manual until the 1990's. Therefore the department of corrections needs to better identify inmates inside the state and federal prison with this disorder.
Inmates with Asperger Syndrome are often harrased and punished for manifestations of a neurological disability.
The families of inmates with Asperger Syndrome should have a fundamental right to assist a love one who resides inside the correctional institution with requests for disability accommodations and processes relating to grievances. The states attorney general should allow immediate family members of the inmate assist in these type of due processess..

THE PETITION REQUEST THE GOV TO BETTER IDENTIFIED THOSE INMATES WITH AUTISM SPECTRUMS SUCH AS ASPERGER SYNDROME AND ALLOW THEM TO RECEIVE ADEQUATE ACCOMMODATIONS FOR ASPERGER SYNDROME WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF THEIR IMMEDIATE FAMILY MEMBERS. REMEMBER OUR CHILDREN UNDER THE AUTISM SPECTRUM DO GROW AND SOMETIMES MAY NEED TO FACE A POLICE MAN OR EVEN ENTER PRISON. THE DIAGNOSTIC MANUAL DID NOT INCLUDE ASPERGER SYNDROME UNTIL THE 1990'S MANY OF THESE INDIVIDUALS MAYBE LIVING INSIDE THE PRISON AND MAYBE HARRASSED OR PUNISHED FOR NEUROLOGICAL MANIFESTATIONS THAT THEY ARE UNABLE TO CONTROL.
