Maternal grandparents moved to the UK, making me a third generation Irish immigrant.

Errr... where did you get that response from? Cuz it looks like something I would utter to friends and enemies alike on an unrelated messageboard, and under a different username.

My last name is Irish.

I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it will be with a knife.

If I offended you, please let me know via pm. I tend to do it without realizing it. I can be clueless as to how my humor comes across. Please be nice about it.

RE: Chooka - is it a good thing that people are starting to assume genius = autism?

Hi I am an Auslan interpreter and I have been privileged to work at college with a couple of deaf savants who just amazed me! One fellow doing carpentry just sat and stared at me for a couple of months while I signed away in the classroom and one day I wrote a math formula in the air. This just clicked with my fellow and he wrote out pythagorean theory in the air and it just went from there. I almost broke my jaw when it dropped on the ground and I'm happy to say that he got a proper job making beautiful staircase railings, with some advocacy from me and the head teacher.
Anyway I have been so profoundly moved by Chooka Parker and his abilities, that its changed my life. I am privileged to have become his friend and I just wanted to let you know that he has a debut CD out, called 'No Worries!' available on iTunes http://itunes.apple.com/au/al...  or hard cover CD available on eBay http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/AU...  or on Chookas BRAND NEW website http://www.chookaparkermusic.com. You can also say hi to Chooka on his fb page https://www.facebook.com/page...  - careful there are a lot of fake Chooka pages on fb. Heres a link to one of the recent tracks from the CD performed live! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7Wz0YOOS...A5uc5N2bl5   and recording his second album, this one fills my SOUL!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&featur...uYub8vy6NM ENJOY!! Smile

It's good for now in a way because right now, we're the underdog.

It's best for us to be treated EQUAL to NTs.

If they are positive about autism and in THAT way make us be treated equally (rather than superior or inferior) then that is very good.

Genocide is defined as "any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial, social, political, economic, intellectual, familial, genetic, or religious group, as such: killing members of the group; causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group; [and] forcibly transferring children of the group to another group."
