Elizebeth Newson was the lady who eventually had me diagnosed with "infantile autism" (a very old UK name for aspergers in children) when I was 3. At the time she was in Nottingham as she was studying autism at Nottingham Trent Uni in the late 80's/early 90's. I became a subject of interest as back then autism in general was thought to be a male-only disorder, and also because I also have a severely autistic sister (autism running in females genetically was seen as an extreme rarity. Now we know that that isnt quite the case nowadays).
This criteria does definately fit me. Alot of proffs that I have seen have mentioned that I could potentially have PDA as a co-morbid to my aspergers.....now that I have read this article, this definately explains why I'm not socially nervous or why I don't have the mental "inflexibility" that some aspies have.
