RE: Aspie-quiz Confusion

Just to point out, Neanderthal and Homo Sapien didnt interbreed in Africa. Neanderthal left Africa tens of thousands of years before Homo Sapiens were in existence.

Sorry, I wasn't very clear on that point.

The author of the Neanderthal Theory contends that those in Africa that have have interbred with eurasians, since the admixture event, between neanderthals and homo sapiens in Europe, have neanderthal DNA, and possess neurodiverse traits, which he suggests comes from the Neanderthal ancestors.

Whereas, those indigenous Africans evidenced not to have neanderthal DNA, do not have the neurodiverse traits, evidenced in his Aspie Quiz.

He bases his evidence for this on a lack of interest in the test from African Americans, because he has no current way of sampling these indigenous africans, with no internet access, or language translation for the Quiz.

The only way his theory can be appropriately tested is through controlled studies of the individuals evidenced not to have neanderthal DNA in Africa, along with testing with his method of measuring neurodiverse traits.

The available areas of peer review, have not accepted his aspie quiz results for evidence, because the methods used to gather the data do not meet their peer review standards.

It's a matter of getting someone interested in doing a controlled study.  It would be pretty expensive.  It makes it hard for someone on the outside of the scientific community looking in, without the research grant money, to perform such a study.

There are lots of people in the world with money and interests; maybe he will find a neurodiverse one that is intersted in helping achieve his goal.Smile

I found an interesting discussion, recently, where he explained part of this on the asdgestalt.com site.  It seems to be an overall interesting site; the individual that runs the site, is an actual diagnosed autistic individual that does real autism research, like Michelle Dawson.

Easy to find on the site if you are interested in more details.

And while his neanderthal theory is highly controversial, the Aspie Quiz tool, is highly respected and recently quoted on a mainstream internet site, in regard to an individual taking the test, who thought they might have aspergers.

You may already be familiar with this, also providing further info, for the Op., in case he is interested.Smile

Katie1, Thanks for the well rounded info.

Who doesn't to some degree? It is my hypothesis from an ongoing, now 48 year long study, that everyone has something, and that in nature there is no normal.

I do that every morning with a knuckle drag test. There is one confounding issue with that test, as I get more stoop shouldered with ageI seem to become more primitive.

Cool. That was the site I was referring to.  If, I remember his comments from another site correctly, the quiz got several thousand hits in a few days, as a result of that mainstream exposure.

And, since it was part of what brought you here, the impacts of the mainstream exposure, is making a difference beyond the quiz as well.
