Wow.  I do wonder how you could stop people having children if they want them!  

My parents certainly couldn't afford to give me an elite education, I went to the local high school.  I'm having to get my uni education now, in my fifties.  

And my daughter went to the public schools until she was in her last two senior years, by then we were scratching together enough money (with two wages) to put her into a private school preparatory to university.  

My husband didn't go to university (his life-long ambition) because as the youngest son of six children, his older brothers all got to go, his sisters got dowries, and he got to come to Australia as a refugee.  He finally went to university when we got married, and did his Bachelor of Science.  (Kinda funny, actually, he had to get married to become a Bachelor...)
