What about aspies with super annoying personal quirks*?

*not a reference to anyone in particular, so don't bother asking if I'm talking about you Tongue

in reply to the thread; I've never been diagnosed, and I'm not sure I ever will be. The line between aspie/non-aspie is almost blurred beyond the point of being able to make a distinction, given the right circumstances. Certainly, there must be more than one gene responsible for AS, as there are at least a few million people who have a few (or several) AS characteristics, but not enough for a full dx.

I never thought you were talking about me!  And I said "the majority".  Not all.  There are definitely Aspies I could smother with a pillow, no trouble.

To be ruled by tradition just means that you're letting yourself be outvoted by the dead.

The question was along the lines of "for every dark cloud, there is a silver lining".

Can the same be said about super-annoying aspies?

RE: How did you feel when you first got your diagnosis?

I started sobbing.  I was relieved and angry, overwhelmed, excited, giddy, sad...  It explained EVERYTHING.  The following weeks were rife with "aha" moments.  I had felt like an enormous failure my entire life.  The diagnosis was validating.
