100 ways to Advicate

Oh yea, I'm deadly seriouse Cool

1. Contact your local Autism organisations and raise your concerns.

Write down excactly what you want to address, and consider things from their point of view. In other words use your negotiation skills

Most likely way to make contact would be;

- Email, the easy option but organisations will get alot of these

http://www.bereal.com.au/making-contact-email.htm

- Phone, I like this one as a transition to talking to real people, but it depends who you can get on the phone.

http://www.bereal.com.au/making-contact-phone.htm

- Paper letter (thankyou Black Butterfly). Gives that personal touch

http://www.bereal.com.au/making-contact-letters.htm

2. Distributing posters, brochures etc.

Making sure that you've considered your target audience, gained feedback and taken a bit of interest in how the pro's do it

Stay tuned for more advicacy goodness, or add your own Wink

4. Come out as autistic. This one really does a lot to shift the views of the people around you.

5. Talk about autistic issues offline, and have the debates when they come up.

^ essential in the event you need to write to a individual, store or corporation. Proper grammar, sentence structure and paragraphs are very important.

Seconded.

You will not be taken seriously if you cannot even spell advocacy or advocate.

I like that one.  Most folks dont know how "ordinary" we are. Until they find out that we are Autist.

LOL, most people express admiration, because of what I have been able to accomplish in my life.

Even though I cant say my accomplishments are a big deal. They dont know about all my failures, and I dont dwell on those.
