Do they ever lie on your assessments/in your files for convenience?
Some wrote that I had AS instead of PDD-NOS for convenience but I corrected that. I still haven't corrected the "Diagnosed with Asperger's at a very young age"... I wasn't DIAGNOSED with anything when I was 3 or 4. I was just said to have autistic tendencies. I need to correct that too. I'm a bit scared tho.
One doc also wrote I had Autistic Disorder and also that I had hallucinations, so that I could get my Abilify. (Neither of these two things he wrote are true.)
Genocide is defined as "any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial, social, political, economic, intellectual, familial, genetic, or religious group, as such: killing members of the group; causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group; [and] forcibly transferring children of the group to another group."

RE: Do they ever lie on your assessments/in your files for convenience?
I was diagnosed with autism at a young age, that got corrected later in life. I got diagnosed with AS. I never corrected that yet and don't think I ever well because it's just an autism label and why does it matter what autism label I have? Would turning it to PDD-NOS change it? They are getting rid of it anyway and AS and making it all autism. If I don't meet the new criteria, I don't know what I'd be then. Someone with autistic traits? Would I have to get re diagnosed for my work because I work for a company that is for people with disabilities? What happens if someone meets it from their childhood but not as an adult because they had learned to adapt so much? Not autistic?
Besides, doctors do diagnose people with AS when they are more autistic than AS or some diagnose people with HFA because they "met too much" of the aspie criteria. Some get diagnosed with AS when they had a speech delay in their early childhood. So that why I don't care anymore if I have the AS label.
But doctors really did think I was autistic and my parents found it BS. Maybe it was aspie traits they were seeing. Then I was diagnosed with AS because it was "closest match" for a diagnoses and it was to get me through school and get me the education I needed. I don't know why he didn't use the PDD-NOS label. But he did say I have an autism spectrum disorder he would say. But mom always knew I was different and I had something but didn't know what.
So are you saying you don't have autism?

I'm saying I have PDD-NOS, but not any other ASD. If PDD-NOS is included in the new label ASD, then I am still autistic. If it is not, I am not.

In my case it was just the opposite. The person who evaluated me put down a diagnosis of Adjustment Disorder - Not Otherwise Specified for insurance purposes, because he felt that it was none of the insurance company's business that I'm on the spectrum. The actual diagnosis was AS.

I was labeled as having adjustment disorder by my mother. Was it her diagnoses or a doctor's, I dunno. But she said that's what I had and I figured it had to do with me having a hard time adjusting to change and it takes me longer to get used to it. I just thought then it was another word for an aspie trait.
But I have gotten a lot better at adjusting to change I can do it like an NT now. My husband thinks I have a hard time with it but husbands you know. LOL.
