lol, thank you sky.
Donut? Big Grin

When I am an old woman, I shall wear purple with a red hat that doesn't go, and doesn't suit me.And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves and satin candles, and say we've no money for butter.I shall sit down on the pavement when I am tired and gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells and run my stick along the public railings and make up for the sobriety of my youth.I shall go out in my slippers in the rain and pick the flowers in other people's gardens. And learn to spit...

RE: Alcohol for Autism

I used to enjoy other social lubricants when younger, but as far as alcohol goes I am a cheap drunk: I get drunk on little, get sick easily, and nonetheless suffer with a hangover.

Too many side effects for me with this medication!!

The way I see it people on the autism spectrum often struggle to fit in socially. But I challenge anyone to tell the difference between an NT and an aspie after 20 pints or a bottle of scotch!

Look at the positives of alcohol:
* Lowers inhibitions.
* Gives you a valid excuse for being inappropriate.
* Gives you a valid excuse for being clumsy.

And I'm sure that there are many more that I haven't thought of.

actually Pakistan allows foreigners to have alcohol only if their is "permits" involved....

Don't you need to sign a form to say that you are an alcoholic in order to be allowed to drink alcohol in Pakistan? I've heard that is what the touring cricket sides used to do. Of course no cricket sides tour Pakistan any more.

Ahhhh

A straw man is a component of an argument and is an informal fallacy based on misrepresentation of an opponent's position.[1] To "attack a straw man" is to create the illusion of having refuted a proposition by replacing it with a superficially similar yet unequivalent proposition (the "straw man"), and refuting it, without ever having actually refuted the original position.[1][2]

I had to google it....

I guess I'll have a cup of coffee and a donut!

Thank you Captain Obvious. Wink

Looking back on this thread I'm pretty sure I was drunk for most of the posts I made.

That isn't necessarily a positive.

Choosing to imbibe an intoxicating substance is not a valid excuse for anything.

Edit: I came in late.

You are forgetting the fact that society as a whole and - and more importantly - prospective employers tend to look down on alcoholics.

Also, I pride myself on being civilised, and I'd personally hate the loss of self-awareness and control induced by alcohol.
