just a thank you
i'm grateful for this community. i am so happy that there is a place where i can voice my confusion and learn more about how life with an NT person might be experienced by someone with AS. it's a wonderful thing, this website.

 Nice to have you here.
I think theres a couple of other human beings here so you shouldn't have too much trouble fitting in

I'm also very thankful for this place. It's the first and only Aspie community I've joined. Although, I'm only here once in awhile and there is much I haven't read or said. I like the news section. I find it very hard to find stuff written about us otherwise (or maybe I don't take the time to really look). I also enjoy reading some of your personal experiences (like the treatment in society section). I only accepted my self-diagnosis around the time I joined here, but I've thought I "probably have Asperger's" ever since I heard of it about 3 years ago (and I thought I had "some sort of mild autism" since I first heard the word autism about 12 years ago). Reading things here from your perspective helps fill in things that studying about it miss.
I hope to contribute more in the future.

Yes, thanks to Amy and Gareth for setting this up and to everyone who is contributing. I'm slowly working my way through much of the content--there's a lot on here!

Yes, thank you Amy and Gareth! This place is my sanctuary...

While we're at it, I want to say thank you to this community too. I've practically had my diagnosis all my life, but my search for AS and autism related facts, stories and real-life experiences from real aspies. The problem was that almost all the books I found on the subjects were clearly written by NT's, from a NT point of view. You know: "This poor boy doesn't even know how to tie his shoe-laches" and stuff like that. And the few books I found that were actually written by aspies were sob-stories about how to "adapt" and faking NT. And when I went to search for a place to meet other aspies on the internet, I only found all those crazy pro-cure sites and other myths. But I'm happy that I found you guys a couple of days ago, through the link on Wikipedia. It feels good to talk to people who don't try to "comfort me about my illness" or "help be live a more normal life", I'm so sick of all that. And I've always been looking for an "aspie sub-culture", a place where people like us stick together and help each other. Thanks for excisting, guys!

Thank you.
Thank you for the AFF site. It is great to have such a positive and supportive site, for all those with autism.
