What is your plan for surviving the inevitable zombie apocalypse.

Um..... Machetes and a AK-47, medicine cabinet, um..... who would you have as your sidekick to get rid of the Zombies?

Chainsaw. You need to hack their legs off so that they can't chase you down and eat your brain. Chainsaws are ideal for this sort of task.

I'd leave the fighting to others and focus on ensuring long term survival (food, water, putting geography on your side as to easily defend a shelter from zombie "infantry") in a group.

An ak-47 would use alot of ammo even if you use semiautomatic, the only way to get a kill would be to hit the head anything else would slow them down but the noise would attract more.

I would recommend a regular rifle.

A  machete could be good but you would have to hit the neck to decapitate them.

I would only have a companion when defending a building if you were traveling you would only slow each other down.

Chainsaws and other power tools are actually bad at taking down zombies.

Here is a direct quote form the zombie survival guide.

Quote:
Popular fiction has shown us the awesome, brutal power of the chainsaw. Its lightning-quick, rotating teeth can easily slice through flesh and bone, making the strength and skill required for manual weapons unnecessary. Its roar might also give the owner a much-needed psychological boost—empowerment in a situation where abject terror is a given. How many horror movies have you seen in which this industrial killing machine has spelled doom for anyone and anything it touched? In reality, however, chainsaws and similar powered devices rank extremely low on the list of practical zombie-killing weapons. For starters, their fuel supply is finite. Once drained, they provide as much protection as a hand-held stereo. Carrying extra fuel or power cells leads to the second inherent problem: weight. The average chainsaw weighs ten pounds, compared to a two-pound machete. Why increase the chances of exhaustion? Safety must also be considered. One slip, and the spinning teeth might be slicing through your skull just as easily as your enemy’s. Like any machine, another problem is noise. A chainsaw’s distinctive roar, even if running for just a few seconds, will be enough to broadcast to every zombie within earshot, “Dinner is served!”

RE: What is your zombie survival plan?

Constricting nets(basically a net that once it catches them it will constrict to the point of crushing them), various pointy objects, tar, an underground system of hollows(basically a network of underground caves) for the living to reside in, heavy weaponry/explosives, large machines such as construction-type thing-a-ma-jigs(bulldozers, wrecking balls and such).  I don't actually think that there will be a 'zombie apocalypse' but that's what I think would be the best at keeping the living safe.Smile

RE: What is your zombie survival plan?

There is a castle just yonder.

It has a deep moat with steep sides, and the bridges are removable; in that event, there is a little boat there.

The well is clean, and the courtyard has enough room to grow crops for a small to medium group. It is surrounded by fenced in, clear fields, kept grazed short by sheep. There are fish in the moat, as well as a river about a hundred to two hundred meters to the south. There are also ducks, geese and occasionally swans.

I have my bows, my swords, my rifle and my dog. Just beside the entrance to the castle, there are two sheds; one is a fully equipped workshop, the other has a small tractor and a trailer in.

yep, big stone walls do the trick against zombies so Europe has an advantage but there are also some here in America (continent, not country though I never understood why saying america would only refer to the US...) Small reinforced settlements such as these could work. Harsh winters would deal with most of the zombie threat in northern countries anyway.
