Yes, I think that in a general way, that comparison can illustrate what I mean. I often tend to think of it as something as concrete as I can get, since there is so much conflicting stuff out there about sexuality and alchoholism that it all gets very murky for me. I think of things like ambidexterity, for instance. It's rare, but it's a different way the brain works and it's not a disease. Or having one blue eye and one that's light brown (I recently ran into such a man at a bus stop). Again it's very rare, but it's not a disease.
