Hard Time Moving Up
Recently I just got ended a summer job with a non-profit organization. I've been involved with the organization for almost 2 years. I got an interview earlier this year in hopes of getting promoted to a higher position because I really have the passion for the program. I wanted to be promoted to a higher position so bad, but another confident and social NT person got the promotion instead of me and I'm still upset about it. She didn't even want the position and yet she got promoted! One side of me says that she was better suited for the position but another side is still upset.
Has anyone here had a similar experience? If so, how'd you deal with the situation?

I have gotten passed over several times in life. Its never fun , but it happens. You cant dwell on it and have to move on.
I'm not anti-social; I'm just not user friendly

Easier said than done for me considering the amount of times I've gotten rejected... while I don't get as rejected as much today, my past rejections still haunt me from time to time.

I try considering as lessons, but when I combine them together they turn out to be a saddening fact for me and it brings me down... but no matter though. I'll take your advice and continue moving up the ladder until I become better recognized.

Maybe, but the system is also stacked against us because high social skills are so much more valued than actual performance and achievement. Also, you only learn if you have actually done something wrong. Quite often, we haven't done the wrong thing; it is just the way things are.
